Oude Gueuze is an appellation controlee : its label is protected. It is also known as the champagne of beers, especially as it is only available as a limited edition. Timmermans Oude Gueuzes special flavour derives from its time-honoured method of preparation. It is a blend of old lambic, which has been aged for three years in wooden barrels, and young lambic which ensures spontaneous fermentation in the bottle. The different lambics are carefully selected by the brewer to obtain a perfect flavour. After it has been produced, Timmermans Oude Gueuze, which is refermented for four months in the bottle, continues to improve for 20 years.

Butelka 375ml. Piwo wyzwanie. OCENA : smak : 6/10 pijalność : 6/10 styl : 0

750 cc from Whole foods Plymouth. Pours hazy and highly effervescent bright golden with 1-finger frothy and well-retained white head. Nose is tart fruit, lactic acid, earthy funk, yeast, wood. Tastes tart, fruity, with apricot notes, mid-palate earthy woody notes, and some lactic tartness in the finish. Complex and enjoyable, and stays tart throughout.

"This was ok. Ive come around on the style. This had no faults but also nothing that stood out. Lightly sour, acidic...lemons and olive but light and prickly on the palate. "

Timmermans ltd edt, brewed 2010 - bottled 2013 barrel fermented.

Bottle: Thanks, Jason. Cloudy, deep golden body; vapid, crackling white head like youd see on a soda. Lemon skin, white grape, mildly vinous aroma that transitions into a finish more akin to yogurty, lactobacillus sourness. A little bit of wet cork & musty barn funk. Taste is zesty, sour lemon-lime notes up front with a biting, yet tame lactic acidity. Quite puckering. Damp hay bales, light barnyard funky tones, & stone fruit skin tartness lead into a slightly acidic, dry finish. A touch of oak. Dry, effervescent. Not as complex as some other gueuze out there, not as grippingly sour, either. But a good beer nonetheless.

Bottle at home. Pours clear golden with an off white head. Aroma nice and funky, barnyard, dank cellar, musty, but with a citric fresh fruitiness, apple and vinegar. Flavor is heavy puckering acidic. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Good, but a little to much in the acidity and palate.

Pours in a glass... enjoyed by campfire no idea what it looked like other than a nice foamy head. Lots of funk on the nose with underlying complexity of wet barrels, straw, wet grass and lots of stonefruit qualities as well. Palate has great carbonation and the mouthfeel is soft and inviting for all the nuanced flavors to ebb and flow on the tongue. Nice dusty stonefruit, basement must and a lingering acidity that rides out on some honeyed sweetness to balance everything out.

375mL corked bottle. BB 2030! Pours a lively, slightly hazy orange gold body, rocks a shortlived white foam. Funky on the nose; grapefruit, white wine vinegar, hard cheese, green apple, orange juice, light toasty oak character, pineapple, hay. Effervescent carbonation, perhaps a touch coarse, light-to-medium body, acidity is bracing, very citric & acetic, but not unbearable Begins somewhat textural at first; washrind & hard cheeses, pineapple juice, unripe/green mango, grapefruit rind, lemon juice, juicy green apple, touch of cereal graininess with a subtle lightly toasted wood/oak character lingering on a drawn out finish. As expected from these beers, a very complex & unique flavour profile. Perhaps a touch "watered down", for use of a better word, in comparison to the best - a bit tame perhaps even!?

PapaVillum (437) - Valby, DENMARK - AUG 16, 2014
37,5 cl, flaske, 5,5 % ABV, brygget: 2010, tappet 2013, BB 2032, købt i Den Belgiske Ølbutik i Vanløse, 16. august 2014.

Bomber into a tulip glass. Pours a hazy golden yellow, with a moderate white head that slowly fades, leaving a disc on the surface and little lacing. Nose is sour funk and citrus. Taste is sharp, acidic citrus with a long, smooth finish with a hint of yogurt. This beer continues to improve as it warms, and develops complex flavors. Very, very good.
