Oude Gueuze is an appellation controlee : its label is protected. It is also known as the champagne of beers, especially as it is only available as a limited edition. Timmermans Oude Gueuze’s special flavour derives from its time-honoured method of preparation. It is a blend of old lambic, which has been aged for three years in wooden barrels, and young lambic which ensures spontaneous fermentation in the bottle. The different lambics are carefully selected by the brewer to obtain a perfect flavour. After it has been produced, Timmermans Oude Gueuze, which is refermented for four months in the bottle, continues to improve for 20 years.

A fantastically complex gueuze, lemon tart finish, with layers of flavour below it, a sherbert finish on your tongue. Just a stronger aroma away from a great beer rating.

Annars trevlig.

Review according to BJCP2008 (style 17E). Bottle 75cl - Batch L13.04. AROMA: acidic aroma, with na interesting balance between horsy, goat, and some fruits. APPEARANCE: gold color and very clear. average white head with medium retention. TASTE: moderate sour/acidic taste with a horsey balance and some fruit notes. no hop flavours and no bitterness. PALATE: light body and medium tartness. médium-high carbonation. OVERALL: an average gueuze that lacks a bit more fruity character.

@ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- Hazy light amber with a thick rim head, no lace. Taste is lemon zest and light earthy malt with champagne effervescence. It is both tart and sour, but not at all overwhelming. An appetite awakener, and a thirst quencher. An excellent Oude Gueuze.

Bottle... This beer rocks!... Clear yellow pour with a large, frothy, white head. Great retention. The aromatic highlights include lemon flesh, breadiness and musty funk. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and Champagne-like carbonation. The flavor presents citric, lemon-like sourness flanked by mild, pithy bitterness. Crisp, tangy, bready finish.

Hazy gold beer, good off white head. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Usual gueuzey sournss, ie wet wood, dried fruits and a little lemon acid. But it’s mild and not too puckery. Dry finish. Pleasing.

Aroma - is that unique yeasty Belgian farmhouse sort of funk. Appearance - yellow glowing body; hazy liquid: head is white and about 1/4" and quickly fades out Taste - pucker up baby! It is sour; there are wild white flesh fruits, Belgian yeast, and the fine funk farmhouse swank! Palate - body is light; texture is effervescent and juicy; carbonation is lively; finish is sour and tangy

Poured a hazy medium light amber with a round white head. The aroma is big yeast, grapefruit citrus sour. The flavour is medium to strong sour with a cringingly sour citrus palate. Light bodied with average carbonation. Very drinkable in small quantities but it’s very sour!

Poured medium amber with a frothy white head. Aroma of zesty citrus. Medium body, quite lively, flavour is quite sweet, fairly tart. Nicely refreshing.
