COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude Gueuze is an appellation controlee : its label is protected. It is also known as the champagne of beers, especially as it is only available as a limited edition. Timmermans Oude Gueuze’s special flavour derives from its time-honoured method of preparation. It is a blend of old lambic, which has been aged for three years in wooden barrels, and young lambic which ensures spontaneous fermentation in the bottle. The different lambics are carefully selected by the brewer to obtain a perfect flavour. After it has been produced, Timmermans Oude Gueuze, which is refermented for four months in the bottle, continues to improve for 20 years.

Klasse.

Shared with wim at his home. Hazy golden colored beer with almost no head and no carbonation. Fruited sour aroma. Sour sparkling palate. Finish is very sour ending more fruited sweet.

Bottle from Erzengel - many thanks! The Lambic has got a clear to light hazy golden colour with a low head and medium body. Aroma of mild acid, oak and vinegar. Taste of unripe berries, mild wine vinegar, mild acid, soft sourness and unripe fruits. Hints of oak and woods. Smooth to drink with a pleasant fruity-sour finish. Loved it.

Golden colour with minimal fizzy head. Aromas of vinegar, musty and funky timber, with pureed apple. The taste is mouth puckeringly sour - apple cider vinegarand lemon predominantly. Highly acidic and dry finish. Not really my thing.

Corked and caged bottle split two ways. Hazy dark golden pour with some lacings. Lots of funk, balanced acidity, barnyard, apple skin, vanilla and some oaky notes. Pretty good!
