The flavour of Timmermans Oude Kriek, refermented in the bottle, is without comparison. The cherries from which it derives its taste and colour it features traditionally come from Schaerbeek. Slightly acidic and with a wonderful bouquet, this natural and hence unpredictable brew requires careful handling throughout its long maturation period. Created from a blend of old and young lambic, Timmermans Oude Kriek keeps for 12 years. Like Timmermans Oude Gueuze, this is a precious drink, available in a limited edition only !

Superbe couleur voire parfaite. On dirait un Gamay vinification naturel. Petite fraises des champs, citron, cerise franche. Un peu chlorée. Invitant. Non. C’est comme en manger une caisse. Ouch!

Bottle at home. Pours very hazy red with a dull pink head. Aroma of tart cherries, light funk, vinegar, gravy and a little wood. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and heavy acidic. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Cloudy, a few specs of fruit. 2 finger head. Looks like blood red. Nose is great. Jam forward with pie and oak. This is good. Slightly acidic more than I would like and sweeter than I’m into. Huge cherry presence. Nice mouthfeel. Lacks great balance but it’s good.

Bottle. Hazy deep red color with a sparkling but quickly disappearing reddish white head. Aroma of raspberry, cherry and apricot with notes of oak. Very acidic, dry taste with a bitter finish. Medium thin body. Lively carbonation.

Buena.

Drunk from 75cl bottle bought at Carrefour, Auderghem. Traditional sharp, sour kriek with no artificially sweet after taste. Enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Typical kriek cherry color with fast dissapearing cherry red foam head. Aroma is real sour cherries, so is taste. This one I didn’t like too much. Too sour. (Brussels 201405)

Sweet kriek juice tastes like cranberry juice and I’m not on my period. It did beat out some cantillon so lol

Fark cherry red beer, good size pink head! Nose is cherry and raspberry, touch of lactose. Palate is dry, crisp and light. Tart sour cherry, unsweet sharp sherbet. Touch of lemon before a crisp finish. Tart and sharp but all right.

750 ml bottle. Pretty clear, bright red body with a rather fast diapering, foamy off-white head. Quite strong in aroma with cherries, almond, some wood and slightly funky acidic berries. Flavor is acidic sour, berries, cherry, some malt, light wood and some funk. Medium to light body with a lemon type sour aftertaste. Refreshing, authentic and really sour, nice but might miss some body to balance the sourness. The funkiness is surprisingly light.
