The flavour of Timmermans Oude Kriek, refermented in the bottle, is without comparison. The cherries from which it derives its taste and colour it features traditionally come from Schaerbeek. Slightly acidic and with a wonderful bouquet, this natural and hence unpredictable brew requires careful handling throughout its long maturation period. Created from a blend of old and young lambic, Timmermans Oude Kriek keeps for 12 years. Like Timmermans Oude Gueuze, this is a precious drink, available in a limited edition only !

Bouteille 75cl, anno 2012. Acajou presque pourpre, col fin blanc-rosé disparaissant vite.

.375 bottle. Dark reddy hazy. Dried lush red berries on nose. Funk, hay malts, aged aroma. Med bodied, long soft tart flavour. Intense red olish cherries, farmy funk. Pretty nice, intense.

Butelka.

W smaku mocno kwaśne, octowe, lekko cierpkie, orzeźwiające - wiśnie, woda z kiszonej kapusty i sok cytrynowy. Wysycenie dość wysokie, drobne. W afterteasie niewielka pestkowa goryczka i posmak starej beczki, szorstkie w odbiorze.
Poza fajnym, mocno owocowym aromatem i intensywną kwasowością brak tu odrobiny treści. Wyszło piwo dość wodniste, idealne do zaspokojenia pragnienia.

Robijnrood bier zonder schuim.

Bottle at home. Pours clear red with quickly disappearing pink head. Aroma of cherries, leather, effervescent powder, lemon. Very dry and with extremely acidic sour and slightly umami taste. Thin bodied, high carbonation. Probably the most sour kriek I have ever had.

Dirty cherry, umami, earthy, basement aromas. Strong sourness, really sharp ending. Like the aromas but the sourness is not as refined as the Catillons of this world. (33cl bottle from Comptoir Ferme de Mont-Saint-Jean)
