The flavour of Timmermans Oude Kriek, refermented in the bottle, is without comparison. The cherries from which it derives its taste and colour it features traditionally come from Schaerbeek. Slightly acidic and with a wonderful bouquet, this natural and hence unpredictable brew requires careful handling throughout its long maturation period. Created from a blend of old and young lambic, Timmermans Oude Kriek keeps for 12 years. Like Timmermans Oude Gueuze, this is a precious drink, available in a limited edition only !

Très sûrette, peut-être un peu trop comparativement aux saveurs et au corps proposé. Les notes sont tout de fois naturelles et agréables. Au bout du compte ce n’est clairement pas un coup de coeur, mais un Kriek qui se tient debout quand même.

October 3, 2015. Bottle.
Cloudy red with a large frothy pinkish head. Aroma is tart and sweet juicy cherries, hints of oak, chalk, almond and slight cough syrup. Taste is medium sour, light sweet. Finish is dry oak, sour cherries, lemon, lasting sour. Medium bodied, average carbonation.
Quite nice, a bit simple with high acidity and some slight weird, muddled almond and chalk notes.

Hazy, dark pink color with light pink, foamy head that fizzes away quickly. Aroma is a bit unexpected, with some medicinal, kind of herbal notes but also cherries. Taste is really sour and dry up front. Really fruity as well. Not really funky but it has some interesting yeast notes. Carbonation is on the high side and body feels pretty light. Overall it’s a nice, fruity lambic but a bit too acidic for my taste.

11-SEP-2015, bottle @Brussels appartment, from local shop, with Ulkløbben. Hazy red with low White head. Aroma and taste is cherry and a slight funky note. Extremely sour - makes the left eye tick...! That is how sour it is. Really fresh but a Little too much.

Ruby cherry red, some yeast floculations and a very light pink fading head. Aromas of sour cherry, light wood, earthy and faint almonds develop. Light tangy, thin slickness and medium bodied. Sour cherry takes the lead, pretty tart and astringent. Dry tart lasting finish. Lacks the finely built complexities, unfortunately.

From a bottle 2013 vintage it is a clear dark cherry red with a slight head. The aroma is malty and the taste is sour cherry with a sour finish

From a 75 cl bottle shared at home. 2013 vintage. Pours a clear red amber with a scant head. Funky nose. Flavors of bandaid and feint cherry notes. Tart finish.

Bottle. Pours ruby red with a quickly dissapating head. Amazing color. Taste sour, really tart cherries with a hint of lime juice.

750 ml cork and wire topped bottle. Bottling date of April 2013 ... way before the 2025 BB date! Pours with an attractive, clear, light ruby (think cranberry juice) body and a decent head that has weak retention and leaves only a bit of lacing. The fruity, funky, woody aroma is more repellent than attractive. One might be tempted to avoid tasting this, but that would be a mistake. Flavor: Puckering tart; with a solid base of aged, tart cherries. The rich flavor lingers on and on like a fine red wine, including some tannins. Near medium body with medium-light carbonation, palpable tartness and a very dry finish.
