The flavour of Timmermans Oude Kriek, refermented in the bottle, is without comparison. The cherries from which it derives its taste and colour it features traditionally come from Schaerbeek. Slightly acidic and with a wonderful bouquet, this natural and hence unpredictable brew requires careful handling throughout its long maturation period. Created from a blend of old and young lambic, Timmermans Oude Kriek keeps for 12 years. Like Timmermans Oude Gueuze, this is a precious drink, available in a limited edition only !

Bottle thanks to Kendall. Pours a cloudy red with small frothy pink head that lasts leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong cherry and funk. Thin mouthfeel with strong tart cherry and sour finish. Really enjoyed this one. Very impressive.

Deep dark red, ripe cherry colored pour. Modest carbonation and some haze. Gains a pinkish color in the right light. Mouthfeel is moderately lively, only slightly acetic and it makes for easy drinking. Flavor is pleasant but not anywhere near as complex as some examples of the style. I reckon you could see this as a beginnerís kriek in some sense,

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilburís Fort Collins. Pours a bit murky, purple/maroon appearance with a dark pink head. Fuck man, this smells really fucken good. Damn near on the level of Drie Fonteinen Kriek level. Iím so surprised by this, but I immediately put a 3F Kriek in the fridge to make sure I havenít went crazy.. Pretty funky, rich sour black cherry, pie cherry aroma. Really rich thick sour cherry pulp, vanilla, tangy, light strawberry, very light vinegar, a touch woody flavor with a fair amount of tartness on the finish but nothing overly acidic. Iím so surprised that this is that good, but fuck yeah.

Dark Maraschino juice pour with a vibrant cotton candy head. Extremely tart unripened cherry and horseblanket nose. Very similar flavor with overwhelming, lip puckering, jaw locking sour and Bing. Not a ton of complexity here. Bought a 750, drank 375. Meh.

750ml Bottle from Pinnochioís in Media, split with my bride. Pours a deep, ruby red color with a pinkish head. Aroma is funky, yeasty, grass, hay, cherries. Medium on the palate with soft carbonation. Flavor is sour, cherry, funky, yeasty, a little bready, with a nice, tart cherry finish. Tasty.

Sampled at a recent tasting. Gotta love the funk this beer brings. Nice and light on the fruit flavors. The sour/tartness pretty much dominate everything here.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, dark reddish pour with thin pink head, aroma brought notes of big lemon, sour notes, some slight cherry, cherry pie, caramel, biscuit, slight funk notes as well. Taste is really sour, big puckering cherry, dark cherry, some sweet vanilla, lemon, hints of funk, slight acetic acid but plays in well, finishing very sour, slightly bitter.

Bottle. Pours a bright red with bright pink head, settles almost instantly with no lacing. Aroma is tart, sour cherries, funky, and mildly musty. Flavor is strong cherry, fruity, quite tart, mildly oaky. Moderate to lively carbonation, bubbly, crisp texture, and dry finish. Very good, a nice, sour kriek beer.
