4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Small white lively head, disappears quick, leaves a strawberry murky colored beer in the glass. Looks very beautiful!
Smell cherries, light strawberry sour, yeast, wild yeast, hints of wood and iron.
Taste is good sour, some cinnamon, wild yeast, yoghurt sour, some light cherries in the back, good tart which is quite overpowering but still seems to be nicely balanced and good tasty!
Aftertaste is nice sour/tart with light cherries, some sour sweetness and light dry.
Low to medium carbo, light dry tart mouthfeel, medium to fuller body and a light watery texture.
Good balanced but sour in the dominating factor. Nice! Serious! Delicious.

Ruikt zuur en naar kersen, kleur is rood/roze helder, verschilt per glas. Er is bijna geen schuim aanwezig. Lijkt een beetje op rosé wijn, rode wijn, zure smaak

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is sour and includes cherries and stones. Hazy light red without usually pink foam. Nicely strong sourness with mild cherry flavor. I cannot say that is bitter. But I can say that is refreshing sour with out sweetness. Body is medium but almost thin. Carbonation is lively but not foamy.
I like Geuzes and I count that one to fruit geuze. So, that is enjoyable drink.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
In short: An very acidic and sweet-ish Kriek. Overall nice even if a bit below average for the style
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed when probably 6 months of age or so
The look: Cloudy red body topped by a very small pink head
In long: The strong nose is full of acidity and cherries with the lambic funk playing second violin. Taste has a lot of fresh juicy cherries that seem a bit sweeter than what I’m used to feel in a real Kriek, like a mix of fresh red cherries and maraschino cherries. So there is a bit more sweetness than usual in this true Belgian Kriek but it is barely noticeable because it is totally overwhelmed by the intense acidity. Really sharp. There is more acidity than actual sourness in this Kriek. Also some metallic/ferrous notes, some funk and fresh berries of all kinds. Fortunately the intense acidity manages to avoid vinegar/acetic acid flavor. This is an acceptable sipper but drinking my 750ml bottle took me well over one hour. I think there is the potential for a good Kriek here but my bottle was very fresh. Maybe time will be good to it, maybe the funk will eat the sweetness, the sourness will develop and the acidity relax with time. We’ll see. I’m gonna age my remaining bottles and try again in a few years, but honestly with the amount of beer I drink every week, I suspect most of my lambics will outlive me.
