COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The flavour of Timmermans Oude Kriek, refermented in the bottle, is without comparison. The cherries from which it derives its taste and colour it features traditionally come from Schaerbeek. Slightly acidic and with a wonderful bouquet, this natural and hence unpredictable brew requires careful handling throughout its long maturation period. Created from a blend of old and young lambic, Timmermans Oude Kriek keeps for 12 years. Like Timmermans Oude Gueuze, this is a precious drink, available in a limited edition only !

Bottle (Lot 2010): Unclear, rosé coloured, small pinkish head, dry sour and fruity nose (apples/cidre, lemons) sith the usual tart and bretty aromas and a distinctive almondy touch; solid bone-dry sour flavour, medium bodied; lingering sour and fruity to woody finish plus the usual gueuze flavours. Fine stuff, really traditional…

Bottle (750 ml). Ruby red with a medium quickly diminishing pinkish head that leave a little foam and little lacing. Aroma is of tart and sweet cherries with light acidic notes, little to no barnyard presence and hints of citrus. Taste is slightly sweet and moderately sour with cherries, acidic presence, light citrus and light wood. Light body. Moderately dry. Slightly sirupy mouthfeel. Lively carbonation. Decent Kriek from Timmermans. That is certainly not as good as Cantillon and 3F, but it’s not too sweet, it’s drinkable and it’s refreshing. I enjoyed it.

Clear ruby red colour, white head. Aroma of cherries, cherry pips, marzipan, warm cherries. Tart flavour, citrus, cherry, lactic acid and wood. Tart citric finish, cherry, yoghurt, light astringent wood.
Nice one!

750 ml. bottle from ALBO. Dark light rhubarb / pink / red, fading pink head. Smell is tart kriek, fruit flesh, tart, light pits,… Taste is tart kriek, very sour additives, skins, citrus additives, lots of acid added, burning sour, there is a huge number of added chemicals to this, Christmas spices,… Light, lively carb. Very tampered with, still not bad.
