The flavour of Timmermans Oude Kriek, refermented in the bottle, is without comparison. The cherries from which it derives its taste and colour it features traditionally come from Schaerbeek. Slightly acidic and with a wonderful bouquet, this natural and hence unpredictable brew requires careful handling throughout its long maturation period. Created from a blend of old and young lambic, Timmermans Oude Kriek keeps for 12 years. Like Timmermans Oude Gueuze, this is a precious drink, available in a limited edition only !

Fark cherry red beer, good size pink head! Nose is cherry and raspberry, touch of lactose. Palate is dry, crisp and light. Tart sour cherry, unsweet sharp sherbet. Touch of lemon before a crisp finish. Tart and sharp but all right.

Bottle, 75cl corked. An almost clear one, but with some haze in the cherry red body. No head. The aroma is a pleasant blend of cherries and almonds, with some underlying citrusy, funky hints. Rather lemony in the flavor, but with a good cherry taste and also some lemon. Medium body, quite tart on the palate. Rather intensely acidic this one, and lacing a bit on the funky part, but it’s a nice beer anyway. 111229
