3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Through word-of-mouth I’m told Lambic is sour if you drink it soon after getting it, and sweet if you let it age a little. The only thing Timmermans Strawberry is going to be is sweet, as predicted. It claims to be the best Lambic there is. My experience is limited but when drinks go around claiming to be "the best" they usually mean "the most generic." Neither have I had a great experience with Lambic ales yet anyway, but the flavours here are like a flavoursome, organic fizzy pop with the 4% weight added. I don’t get much beer underneath the slightly clingy, slightly over-sweet strawberry flavour that lets you drink in larger gulps, but forces you to rest it a few minutes each time. I think it’s slightly more obvious in flavour than the Floris beers, and I’d personally approach it as a sunny-day fizzy pop than a beer, which doesn’t have to be a bad thing as it does have (good) flavour (as well as a bit of additive). It still worked on the night though, a rainy night after a frosty, foggy week. A lasting beverage.

On tap at The Brass Tap (Tampa).
Hazy strawberry-amber with a durable head ad decent lacing.
Aroma: Sweet and fruity with a hint of tartness. Somewhat vaguely strawberry.
Flavor: nice sweet/tart balance. Good strawberry flavor.
Feel: smooth and soft carbonation; medium-light body.
O: good for style but vcould be more complex and a touch more tart.

Bottle. Murky mahogny ruby in color, small off-white head. Wild strawberry sweetness and some further sweet notes in aroma. Some cherry vibes too perhaps. Sweetish taste with hints of berries here and there.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Aroma of strawberry, funky notes, sugar, hint of tart fruit. Flavour is heavy sugary sweet and light tart. Too sweet and sugary for my taste.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy, orange brown. Small white head. Strong, sweet strawberry jam aroma. Flavour has more strawberry with a caramely, malty background. Fluffy mouthfeel, only slightly acidic. Sweet, semi sticky finish.

2.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Meh. A waste of a bottle. I love fruit beers and fruit lambics, but the lack of carbonation in this beer made it feel like I was drinking flat strawberry juice. The lack of any "pop" when I pulled the cork off was a dead giveaway. Aroma was nice. Strawberry Starburst with not much else. Pour was a flat headless, bubbleless dark gold. Taste was nice and big with huge juicy strawberry flavors. The problem was it was completely flat. Not a hint of carbonation. With just a hint of bubbles this would be a good, if not basic, fruit beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/30/2012. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lightly tart strawberry, strawberry jam/candy, hay, straw, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with big notes of sweet strawberries and some light yeast and earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big lightly tart strawberry, strawberry jam/candy, hay, straw, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. No bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of big strawberries, strawberry jam/candy, hay, straw, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Nice robustness of big sweet strawberry flavors with some light yeast and earthy hop notes; with minimal cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and slightly syrupy mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected for 4%. Overall this is a really solid standard fruit beer. Nice robustness of big strawberry flavors with light yeast, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. It really doesn’t fit the Lambic style profile very well at all; but as a standard fruit beer it is quite enjoyable, as long as you don’t mind the sweetness(which wasn’t that bad in my opinion).
