Pours a clear golden orange from the bottle with dissipating bubbly white head laces lightly. Aroma of slightly sour Belgian yeast and wheat. Taste follows, slight lemon citrus notes and a sweet finish. Definitely one of the best Belgian witbiers I’ve ever had if that is really what it is.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 jookos (761) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 9, 2013
Bottle. Light yellow, hazy. Wheat, spices on nose. Just a hint of funk, citrus. Overall quite weak nose. Body is light, refreshing. Dry and a bit sour, with lots of citrus, some yeast, hay. Pleasant, even though the flavour profile (hayish citrus) feels a bit odd. Somehow radler comes to mind- I guess this would also work well on hot summer days.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Scopey (3241) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 29, 2013
Bottle shared at ’t Antwaerps Bierhuiske. It pours hazy pale yellow with a medium white head. The nose is lightly tangy, apple, pear and ice tea. The taste is apple juice, light tang, soft fruit, sweet-sour aspect, wheat and light sherbet with a dry finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Tastes a lot like apple juice really, so not all bad!
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Wombata (330) - Kobe, JAPAN - APR 29, 2013
Aroma: lemon, dried orange peel, roast pear and roasted candy sugar.
Flavor: lemon, brief appearance of pear and tropical fruit that swiftly turns to green apple, quinine/sparkling tonic water. The lemon, quinine, green apple dominates.
Comment: refreshing quaffer, great summer drink that has some complexity.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 popery (1119) - San Francisco, California, USA - APR 13, 2013
Pours pale gold with a foamy white head. Quite clear. Looks rather fizzy, but some bubbles hang on for a bit. Things go downhill from here. It smells of lemons, floral hops, old stewed vegetables, fruit rot and cough syrup. The lemon note is nice and easily the strongest or my score would be lower. Unfortunately, the rest of the aroma is just off. The taste combines sickly sweetness with lemons and more oddball cough syrup. It reminds me of orange juice concentrate that’s gone bad. It’s not undrinkable, though I’d say that’s more a product of the low abv. The thought of this beer at twice the strength fills me dread. The mouthfeel is sudsy and oddly gummy, a bit like a sorghum beer. Despite my comments, the beer really isn’t horrible. It’s just a rather bad version of what it advertises. It tastes like a combination of two very simple, overly sweet versions of each style. There are some nice notes somewhere in this beer, and there’s an occasional hint of lambic complexity, but the good stuff is utterly lost amongst the muck. Oddly, I kinda liked Timmerman’s pumpkin lambic, but this one is a struggle.
