There is no other beer like Timmermans Tradition Blanche Lambicus anywhere in the world because it is the only white lambic beer. By adding spices such as coriander and dried orange zest, a light, fruity beer is created. It is subtly spicy and deliberately made cloudy. Should ideally be drunk from an authentic stoneware pot.

750 ml corked and caged bottle. Bottled on 5/30/12. Pours witbier pale yellow with a small white collapsing head that leaves a skiff of foam. Aroma is funky like a lambic (why is this in the witbier category again?), with horseblanket and pungent vinegar pretty strong. Taste is mostly sour and acidic with a sweet edge. Has more in common with a lambic or a plain old sour--other than the appearance, this bears little to no resemblance to any witbier I’ve ever had. Tastes good, whatever it is.

Aroma: Barnyard, wheat, vinegar, coriander, sour. Appearance: Head disappears with hiss, color is pale. Taste: Dominating sourness, quite tart, also sweet, some wheat notes, lemon, vinegar. Palate: Body is thin, carbonation is medium, finish is sour and sweet. Generally to sweet and too much vinegar notes. I love very sour beverages but this is quite tiring. And btw, it is much more a lambic than a witbier.

Bottle, 37,5cL. Home. A clear pale golden yellow beer with amedium white head ; medium retention. Fruits (citrus), coriander, sugar, light smoky barnyard. Medium sweet, light lasting sour. Light body, thin oily texture, average to good carbonation, short sweet-sour finish. Overall, a pleasant odd beer : between a belgian white and a faro ; nearly too sweet.

Bouteille: Golden, almost clear, visible, almost lively carbonation, small foamy white layer; mild to moderate sweetish-sourish nose of fruit-vinegar, some very mild cellary notes in the background; mild to moderate sweet-sour flavour, light bodied; sweetish-sourish fruity vinegary finish with some illusions of wheat. Not demanding, but a good summer drink…

Clear, pretty pale golden body with a white head that reduces to a thin layer, good lacing. The aroma is rather strong, fruity and a bit sour. I get lots of tart, generic fruits, some apple and a modest funkiness. Moderate flavour of tart fruits, white wine, apples, citrus, light funk and hints of wheat. The sourness is very subtle, and can’t quite match the rather sweet taste. Light-bodied, dry and with a moderate carbonation. An unusual beer!
