375ml bottle. Pours a clear light gold (the E150 colouring apparently hasn’t done a whole lot), with a tiny and rapidly vanishing white head, which leaves no lace. There are some pleasant sour, musty and woody notes in the aroma, but the added apple juice gives an artificial feeling to it. A fairly pleasant sour flavour up front is again spoilt by an artificial apple taste. Some sourdough flavours come through in the middle, with a crisper sour finish. This is not a terrible beer by any means, but I get the sense that it could have been a whole lot better without the apple juice, which is very intrusive, and the unnecessary E150 and E300 additives.

Ugh what a foul beer. The fact that they are allowed to call this a gueuze should be criminal. Aroma was sweet and syrupy with Lemon Head candy smell. Pour was way too dark for the style. very dark gold/light brown with no head but a plus for all the sediment in the bottle.Taste was nasty. Initial malt sweetness is immediately taken over by an artificial tasting sourness. Not much else to this beer. Finish is sticky and fake lemony. Very light carbonation doesn’t help this beer out either.

A bad gueuze. Pours a light hazy yellow with a fizzy white head. The aroma is a bit promising with tart acetic aromas and earthy, musty notes. Flat and musty in the profile with a dry astringent finish. Overall, disappointing.

One of the so-called ’capsulekensgeuzes’, the industrial, sweetened and compromized interpretation of a great style; like its congeners, this reminds very little of actual lambic. Clear golden blonde colour, off-white head, sweet aroma, a bit sugary, sourish touch, apple, smooth and somewhat thin mouthfeel, sweet with a lemony acidic touch but none of the lambic funkiness. Completely redundant.

Bottle from Nissa, Hebden Bridge. Golden, no head. Has a light carbonation but feels more active than this in the palate. Its sweet taste (and texture to an extent) makes it feel somewhere between a cider and a white wine, with apples certainly involved here. Quite sour in its finish though.

Bottle at home. Pours clear dark golden with a bubbly off white head. Aroma of faro like sweetness, some fruitiness, candy and light mouldy and dusty notes. Flavour is over moderate sweet and moderate acidic. Light medium bodied with light carbonation.

Bottle 375ml. Pours golden with very low white head. Minimal to no lacing. Aroma is of caramel, candi sugar, metal. Taste is of candi sugar, very slight acidity. Palate: Medium body. Low carbonation. Overall: Not too good. Sweet. No complexity.

Bottle shared by JulienHuxley, thanks a lot! Pours a clear golden with a small white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of sour hay, some green apples and apricots. Taste is lightly sweet, offers more granny smith and is moderately tart. Body is light to medium and carbonation medium to high. Finishes pretty dry so it is not too bad. Overall, yes it is a bit sweet but I at least didn’t despise it as much as my other tasting partners. It is not as bad as let’s say St-Louis Gueuze when it comes to sweetened gueuzes.
