Bottle. Aroma is sour cherry, stone fruit. Deep dark red, clear, small pink head. Medium sweetness, minimal bitterness, light sour, taste is of cherry, some almond. Light/medium body, average carbonation, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Ok, but too sweet, too little sour.

A steady pour into my teku glass produces a one-finger thick, pink tinged head. The beer is a dark, cherry-red color that shows a clear, bright red hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells of sweet, cherry candies; albeit ones that seem to be made with real cherries. Really there is nothing else that can be picked up out of the aroma.

The beer is not nearly as sweet as I was expecting, though it is still lightly sweet, like watered down cherry juice. In fact that is what this tastes like, if you had this blind you would be hard-pressed to guess that this was not watered down cherry juice. There is perhaps a hint of phenolic character, though this could just be cherry skin notes, and there is perhaps a hint of extra acidity here. The body is fairly light, it has a bit of structure to it, but is far from being cloying.

Simplistic in its cherry focus, it does get bonus points for not being sickly sweet, but because it has no Lambic complexity to it, but then it misses the boat for being a desert topping.

On cask, Tasting Set at La Becasse. Kriek 4% bright candy red color with a pinkish head. The nose is sweet cherry juice, this is where the set goes off the rails a bit. Soft carbonation, light bodied with a slightly dry finish. The beer is mostly sweet cherry juice. Alright but one dimensional, thankfully the cherry character is natural juice rather than artificial seeming. Weakest of the set.

Seems sweeter than Lindemans kriek, tasted like maraschino cherries, nice, but I definitely prefer the Lindemans, which is a bit sourer.

Pours red with very little head retention. The aroma is artificial cherry candy. The taste is artificial cherry as expected from the nose. A beer with antioxidant it s not a beer.
