Used to be simply Timmermans Kriek Lambic before they changed the name after the introduction of the extra sweet Timms version. Was often served in stone pitchers. Pinkish head over a deep ruby red beer, very sugary aroma and taste with red candy, cherry jam, vanilla but lemonade-like ascorbid acid too. A slight hint of tart, earthy lambic is noticeable far away in the background, but the sweetness dominates. Too sweet for my tooth, but like its Lindemans congener, not the worst example of the ’zoete kriek’ style.

Bottle. Cassis color. Sweet cherry cola aromas, almond liqour. Nice. Taste is very sweet, a little candy-like, soft drink almost. Sour development which is really nice though. Sticky aftertaste. A little too sweet for me, but not bad.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle BBE: 6/5/16. Well-chilled. Clear, deep ruby red body with a moderate, pink, fairly tight head. Intense sweet cherry and almond aromas. The taste doesn’t arrive instantly, but when it does its a heavy sourness with an underlying light-medium sweetness. High carbonation adds to the tangy mouthfeel. The body is light and the texture is fairly slick. The finish is short. Not much of a lambic funkiness here, but overall its a cracking sour.

Bottle, 33cL. A clear dark red garnett beer with a medium white head ; average retention. Aroma of cherry, sugar "artificial". Medium sugary sweet, acid note. Light body, thin sticky texture, average carbonation, sweet finish. Overall, OK fruity cherry beer, easy to drink, pleasant aroma. Lambic ?!?

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Crystal clear, deep red body with a long-lived, light pink head, good lacing. Very strong and sweet aroma of cherries, cherry pits, marzipan and Dr. Pepper: holy soft drink, this is sweet stuff! The taste isn’t as violently sweet as the aroma led me to believe, but it’s still much more sweetness than I’d expected from a lambic. There is a hints of acidity in the finish, but overall this is a sweet beer. The strong flavour follow the soft drink aroma. The body is pretty light, the texture is a bit watery with hints of dryness in the finish, the carbonation is lively. Being a lambic newcomer I had expected tartness and acidity, not sweet Dr. Pepper. What an entertaining surprise!
