4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Had on tap on a recent trip to England. This is one of the beers that quite seriously rewired my taste preferences on that trip. I came back with a distinct preference for a little more bitterness and less carbonation, exactly what you get with this ale.

2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask pint at the bricklayers. Looks of beautiful amber, and a nose of caramel hops and smooth malt are sometimes misleading... i normally like the sharp hop notes of their brewery but this was tooo much for me! it is soooo bitter it tasted like Fooey!, the stuff i put on my cables to stop my rabbits from chewing them!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask, brought back from the Bricklayers for me by renffisch, so that I could have it on my return from the US the day after. Dark amber in appearance with an earthy malt aroma. Good flavour with malt and chocolate rubbing shoulders with nuttiness, a hint of coffee and a bitter hoppiness on the swallow. Nice long hop finish and a smooth palate. Robust, drinkable stuff.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask gravity at Bricklayers Arms 2nd Annual Yorkshire BF 08. Amber with lasting beige head. Caramel, some red fruit, but fairly subtle. Nice condition in mouth. Very drinkable ESB. Has hints of the good stuff, but that may have been my cold affecting my taste buds.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask @ Bricklayers Arms, Yorkshire BF ’08. Amber / brown colour with thin off-white head. Aroma is hoppy, malty, quite earthy. Taste was smooth, hoppy, creamy with a nice caramel edge. I thought it was a little too cold straight off, but left for a while and it came into its own nicely. A truly nice beer, well done TT!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A Mes rate: Gravicask at the Bricklayers.
Golden brown with a thin white head. Lovely hop fronted aroma with some nice balancing creamy malt and very pleasant earthy notes. Flavour is more of the same with a sharp bite from the hops and the earthy note comes on strong. A very enjoyable nutty and coffee character in the background with a little caramel. Pleasing bitter yet dry finish. Ang called it, it’s very much like Landlord with some bigger balls.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Putney Beer Fest 2008.
Although an excellent beer, not sure I could drink more than a couple. Although 5%, tasted a lot stronger.
Very hoppy, drank it as soon as it came on.
A good solid pint from a great brewer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask @ Bricklayers Arms, Putney Fest 2008: Sulphur hops, light and fruity aroma. Pours an amber beer giving a huge white head that is firm. Taste is soft, citrus, hoppy and metallic. Very nice brew from one of my favourite breweries.
