4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Maybe it’s a Yorkshire thing - but this is exactly how I think bitter should be. Aroma is subtle but hoppy. Taste is clean, balanced. Mouthfeel is fantastic - exactly right, perfect carbonation, slightly oily. This beer is everything in moderation. Unflashy, and maybe old fashioned, but drinkable. Also the bottle is cool.

Bottle at home. Pours lightly hazy copper/amber with a large, foamy and frothy/bubbly off-white to light beige head, medium-long retention with good lacing. Aroma is tea, woody and herbal hops, sherry (oxidation), light toast malt with some honey and faint caramel character, cooked apples and light metallic notes. Flavor is sweet thin malt forward, moderate earthy, herbal, and woody hops and medium-light hop bitterness, light fruity esters, faint caramel, tea notes and lightly tannic with a thin and sweet finish. Light body and medium-light carbonation.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Amber pour, off white head. Pretty decent beer for a style that often sucks. Malty, light hops, caramel, quite tasty.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is clear medium amber.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, orange), with a note of metal, hint of diacetyl.
Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, slightly metallic.
Quite metallic in the nose, which is unfortunate since the hop scent is pleasant. Not as metallic in the mouth, though, and otherwise ok.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice pour, a clear amber/bronze with a creamy white head and solid lacing. The aroma was grainy, toasty, and lightly sweet. It had a grainy, cracker-like flavor with dry herbs, a touch of earth, and a mild bitterness. Nice. I wish this was more readily available in this area... and at a lower price.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
500 ml bottle at home, into a Guinness pint, about a yer old, ABV 4.1%
Hazy body deep red to orange copper in colour. Two fingers of slighty off-white head, good retention. Medium lacing on the glass.
Sweet aroma of malts along with dark and red fruits, cookies.
Quite sweet and malty taste, marmalade, red fruits, stale hops, but with a good bitterness on the aftertaste.
Medium bodied, nice carbonation.
Overall still a good one although past its prime, would like to try a fresher sample.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Really quite clean and fresh with a crisp, bitter flavour. The pour is sparkling and bright gold with a thick puffy white head. Notes of grass, caramel, bread, light citrus and a pinch of pepper in the aroma. A very mild and plain flavour profile with a clean, crisp and refreshing profile. Overall nothing too exciting but well done.

Copper brown pour with flecks of ruby. Frothy head clings to the glass. Malt, fresh bread on the nose. Well balanced and somewhat fruity, leading to a slight toasted malt flavor. Some bitterness on the finish.
