Woody, earthy aroma from the hops. Nice, full malt breadiness. Sweet caramel taste. Full body considering abv. Very nice classic British Pale Ale.

@ SBWF 2014: en blaskig och smörig grej. Inget för mig och inget jag kan rekommendera andra. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. A fluffy white head leaves some lacing. Mostly clear cinnamon colored beer. An aroma of skunked hops that are also tasted. Fruit, floral notes, and malt. Bitterness. This is hard to get excited about.

A brilliant pint of bitter; an appearance of slightly hazy copper with a lasting lace gives a great first introduction to the forthcoming aroma of quality British hops, orchard fruits, and fresh bread. The flavour builds on the aroma, with the hops in near-perfect balance with the malt, creating a very dynamic palate with a refreshing finish; I note the finish, because I find most quality beer to be very enjoyable, but not exactly refreshing in the sense of slaking thirst. This does a brilliant job of presenting a top-quality British pint that you can put a few away of without feeling like you need a gallon of water afterward!

Sample at SBWF 2014. A bit hazy copper with a white head. Aroma and taste of bread, grass, caramel and some light fruit. The mouthfeel was quite thin. Drinkable but a bit boring to be honest.

A classic English bitter, with slightly more fruitiness than you would expect from a Northern brew. Pours a clear copper colour with a frothy white head. Aroma of semi-sweet malts and English hops. The taste starts with a slightly toffee-ish sweetness followed by an earthy, fruity bitterness from the hops. There is a very slight hint of burnt match sulphur which contributes to the earthy quality. A very pleasant pint, highly quaffable. It is even better from the cask, if my memories of visits to Wharfdale are correct!

amber, clear, frothy, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, full body, thin feel, average carbonation, bitter, . it says pale ale on the bottle but its more like bitter to be fair

Pours a deep copper with a short finger of off-white head, excellent retention and spotty moderate lacing. Nose is fresh light English-style hops and light caramel malt. Taste follows suit, balanced sweet malt and dry, almost earthy hops. Medium body with sustained, almost prickly carbonation and a lingering bitter finish. Now, that’s a decent bitter. Sufficient malt to support the earthy dry hops, but not so much that the sweetness is overwhelming. I’ve been pretty down on English beers lately - other than IPA’s, obviously - but this is quite nice.
