Tallahassee, Fl. - Beer Stop - 500 ml bottle - sparkling medium copper pour, silky white head, leaves a light film of lacing. Aroma has some light ginger-like spicy notes, some faint citrus bitterness. Flavor has a nice subtle citrus bitterness to it, some faint vanilla accents, some light cake mix sweetness and a hint of nectarine fruitiness. Mouthfeel has a pleasant spritz to it. Been a while since I had an English Bitter.

Clean copper color, medium white quickly disappearing head. Aroma of malt, caramel, hops. Dry taste with gentle sweetness and mild bitterness. Watery body and average carbonation. Very simple taste, but also very drinkable and refreshing.

0,5L bottle (from Tallinna Kaubamaja). Pours clear copper with off-white head. Aroma is toffee, caramel, and metallic notes. Flavor is sweet and bitter, caramel, nutty, malty, slight citric, and metallic notes. Finish is nutty bitter and caramel. Carbonation is high. Doesn’t feel watery despite the ABV. Overall: ok brew.

suurjuust (1556) - ESTONIA - APR 22, 2015
Clear copper beer, small off-white head. Malty nose, some sweetness, grass, mild caramel, cardboard hints. Flavor begins malt-forward with a smattering of caramel and ends with more grassy hops. Caramel in the retronasals with bready notes. A fair balance, a great quaffer, but not something I’d go out of my way to find.

Find this quite boring and musty. Just wasn’t into it. Tastes old and tired. Shame really.

500ml bottle (Koht, Tallinn)
Light sweet bitter aroma, does transport me back to England. Some popcorn in the malty base, hopped in a grassy but also extracty way. Palate a bit watery, carbonation quite high. Finish has nice popcorny grains, and slightly harsh, again extracty, hop bitterness. Nothing like the real ale version that I’ve been very impresed with.

Nearly as excellent as from cask. Clear, amber ale, with low carbonation and a white, foamy head. Light-medium bodied. Malts of caramel, bread and biscuit are well balanced by spicy and peppery hops, with notes of peaches and citrus. A lovely, refreshing beer, particularly for the summer. The carbonation on the bottle isn’t quite as smooth as from cask, but as bottled beers go, this one keeps remarkably well!

500ml bottle. Clear dark copper color. Small size, beige head, stays. Faint caramel, very light hops in aroma. Light grains, sweet malts, very light grassy hops in taste. Medium plus carbonation. Soft bitterness.

Bottle at home. Clear deep golden pour, thin white head. Aroma is spicy, malty, English hops, a hint of caramel, cream and slightly fruity. Flavor is solid malty, nice bitter hops and very clean. Well balanced and with a thick body for the low ABV. Nice one.

Bottle. One of the prime examples of a classic bitter. Caramel, biscuit and a dry hop flavour. An impressive creamy body for the ABV.
