MoritzF (3883), Ruhrpott, Germany Dec 28, 2005 (bottle) Orange-amber coloured hue with a mid-sized off-white foamy head. Buttery floral and herbal hoppy aroma with grape-fruits and English marmalade. Very dry and bitter hoppy taste, combined with fine fruity notes (grape-fruits) and a balanced maltiness (butterscotch) in the background, aromatic and lasting dry, bitter and herbal hoppy finish. This one is really a pleasure. Thanks to pivnizub for the bottle !
Quack-Duck (1825), Bodensee, Germany Sep 1, 2008 bottle, Waitrose Sidmouth. Clear copper-brown colour, mid-sized head. Fruity and malty, hints of caramel and raisins. The finish has got some rather intensive and spicy hoppy flavours. Well-balanced, a good one. gary07734 (165), Tyne & Wear, England Aug 25, 2008 Pours a nice copper colour, small head. Taste and smell are similar, bitter and a quite sharp finish, some sugar and malt in the background. Reasonable. donfardz64 (113), Wellington, New Zealand Aug 23, 2008 Pours classic pale ale red/orange, with a fizzy head that lingers. Hoppy malty nose, smells quite sweet. Very nice mouthfeel, hop flavours come through strongly and bitterly, with a background of malt. A very drinkable, tasty excellent beer. DougShoemaker (2612), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 7, 2008 Aroma is an inviting malt, with a leafy wet hops, dark amber, pours a small off-white head. Flavour is a woody malt, mild fruit, the hops figure in with a resiny bite. Light bodied, perfectly balanced, extremely well made, superb mouthfeel, fresh as you please. Fabulous! Thanks so much Roger Pettit. Beth101 (122), West Yorkshire, England Aug 7, 2008 Caramel in colour with a rapidly disappearing head. Had a smeel of hops and a malty taste. Smooth.
