3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can shared in LA - sourced in NOLA. Pours unclear, dark gold with a creamy topping. Somewhat bland in the nose, some grains, jammy citrus. Light sweet flavour with subtle grainy notes, citrus rind, leaves, faint dried berries. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with some bready malts, pale grains, ripening citrus, berries, leaves, earth, subtle pine. Pretty average stuff.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very simple grain pale ale. Taste more like a single hop single grain beer. Light hop nose. But overall boring. Similar to many other beers.

Location: Pint on tap at 801 Royal
Appearance: Clear lighter amber brew. Nice foam of tan tiny bubbles.
Nose: lightly toasted grain. Malty. Faint herbal hops
Taste: a bit watery with malt forward, some sweetness and a bit of hops to round it out
Body: thinner to medium
Parting thoughts: a pretty disappointing beer. felt and tasted watered down.

1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pours an amber-golden with a short beige head. Toasted malt nose. Way too watery. As if ice cubes were melted in it. Not good at all.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
From the tap the color is (in bad lightning) auburn with almost no head, the aroma is an ale and light malts, the taste is malts almost soy sauce flavors and cream like cream soda on the finish, the mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation

Had a tap on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Why don’t people like this? Maybe they just need to drink it in a more enjoyable location

Smooth and easy drinking. But malty but refreshing. A good beer for drinking a lot of.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Muted citrus and odd in a good way caramel aroma with grainy notes, a candy sweetness also apparent as it warms. Ruddy muddy copper color, lots of yeast sediment. Taste is okay, not overly hop forward but citrusy hop character is more apparent in flavor than in aroma. Palate is nice, creamy, slightly over carbed perhaps, it’s borderline. Overall not enough hop punch and I get hints of the ginger but wouldn’t know what it was if not in the description. It seems a timid approach to doing something different. Sort of a ’let’s differentiate ourselves from other APAs but lets not be bold’ approach ... recipe for mediocrity, which this beer is. It’s not a bad beer, I’d drink it again and will try it again (especially on tap), but it shines in no particular way yet isn’t bad in any particular way, and doesn’t showcase cane syrup (which I LOVE) or ginger in any special way.
