3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
650ml bottle pours a brown color with a small beige head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of light roasted malts with hints of chocolate and some grassy hops. Taste is light roasty malted bitterness with some grassy hop bitterness and an underlying mild chocolate sweetness. Light to medium body with some nice carbonation. I really enjoyed this ale and like the new label as well.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear dark copper, small tan head. Dark roasted malt aroma. Sweet caramel burnt malt taste, balanced with a medium hop bitterness, not much else. Finishes burnt and bitter. A ’not so mild ale’. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
The pour is a dark brown, mostly opaque with a finger of beige head and some spotty lacing. The nose has a sweet, roasty malt with a surprising hop note. Notes of cocoa, wood, roast and biscuits. The taste is quite mild with a hint of cocoa and roasty malts, light wood and subtle dark fruits. A nutty caramel malt and a mild grassy hop finish with light bitterness. A medium body with a sticky, chewy motuhfeel. overall, this is an average brown ale.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nice amber-black body and a decent dark beige head. Aroma is grass and barley, like it may have been a vegetable brew. Flavour is a slightly sweet barley with hints of grass. Better than some stuff by Tin Whistle, but I can’t say I’ve been impressed by this brewer to any stretch.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Fairly dark....can barely see through it, very faint red tinge. Nose: Immediate wet log, then some ash. Not overly complex. Taste: Very mild barley and lots ash everywhere. Dusty. Thin upfront but starts to speak late with some very high percentage cocoa. Finish is surprisingly short and carbonation is not as high as some other Tin Whistle Beers, but slight lack of balance is common place.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice lightish brown coloured body with a thinnish tan head. Mild aroma (no pun) of malt, light caramel and a touch of nuts. Medium-bodied; Assertive roasted malt with some light pitted fruits and a minor bit of vanilla. Aftertaste is pretty subdued with only sugars coming through and perhaps a touch of malt and nuts. Overall, a pretty unoffensive beer and one that shows relatively well - not bad by any means, just not sublime. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased a few days earlier at Sherbrooke Liquors in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, sampled at the Banff Springs hotel in Banff, Alberta on 30-December-2008.
