Mahogany-brown colour. Aroma of cocoa, vanilla and toffee. Sweet palate, mainly toffeeish with some almond. The toffee gets slightly earthy in the finish but remains quite sweet. A little one-dimensional for my tastes - comes off like a liquid Tootsie Roll.

Slowly fading off-white head gives decent lacing over a orangey-brown hue. Simplistic grainy nose, toasted cereals and grassy, hay-like faint hops offering poor support. Dark coffeeish malts can’t hide multiple flaws, the finish is short and metallic, showcasing collapsing roastiness. Fizzy carbonation, very thin and watery.

22 oz bottle shared with Da Montreal Crew at Fantômes and More! tasting. Dark walnut brown, quickly disappearing head with no lace...roasty, nutty nose, buttered almonds, diacetyl maybe but not too bad...weak, watery nuttiness in the body, almonds and hazelnuts picked out of a drowned barrel along with some too-old dry herbs...bland, dull and thin.

The Lure:
Honey sweetness smears the roasted malts and pumpernickel bread. Sweet and greasy butterscotch leeking onto frail fruitiness.

The Festivities:
Fat sweetness attempts to cover the watery emptiness. A roasted finish tickles, but clashes with the overbearing honey. If for some reason, you like honey browns, you might like this, otherwise I would avoid it.

Transcendence:
Lots of make-up to disguise the true nature of things.

Lightly roasty, biscuity malts with a strong buttery overtone to the aroma. Clear dark brown-amber coloured body with a low tan head that recedes to ring. Vegetal, lightly roasty flavour has some biscuity malt characteristics but also suffers from butteriness. Medium-light body is somewhat slick in texture with moderate carbonation. Bottle sampled with beerbuzzmontreal, ClarkVV, Goldorak, MartinT, muzzlehatch, Olivier_MTL, Rastacouere and Yowie.
