3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
650ml bottle to pint glass, the beer pours a transparent dark amber with a decent off white head that fades to a small top. The aroma is amazingly fresh but malt forward...if you homebrew beer you will know what I mean, it smells like a freshly grounded bag of grain backed by earthy, herbal hops. Not much in the way of pine or citrus...there but faint. Taste is a little odd...quite herbal and medicinal along with resin and tree sap. Not what Iím used to in an IPA. Itís also pretty sweet for the style as well and has lots of caramel and toffee notes. The beer is decently palatable...medium bodied, co2 a bit low, drinkability affected a bit by the alcohol rearing itís head but nothing really bad about it. Overall...this beer is different for sure. Itís not terrible but it doesnít feel like itís all there.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. Had high hopes for this, sadly its a mess. Overpowering sugary caramel destroys any hope of a citrus hop hit. Similar thing with the flavour. Pear drops and toffee, no hop character at all. Poor

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Looks great. Bright and fiery red-brown colour and a thin bubbly head. Aroma is chewy and a bit buttery. The body is fairly light for the style. Thereís more diacetyl than hop, which is sort of backgroundy. The malts are nice, smooth, lightly caramelly with a touch of crystal. If you look at this as more of an imperial red, youíll find it quite good, except for the diacetyl, which is perceptible and therefore a problem.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(650ml bottle) Purchased at Spinnakers Spirit Merchants in Vic West for around ~ $7. Pours a thin, white head atop a deep orange body. Nose is very peppery and candied cherries. Fairly sweet, mildly roasted and alcoholic tongue. A lot of kick for a 8% abv. Okay.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A nice golden amber coloured beer that is lightly carbonated. The palate is rather lengthy but doesnít distract from overall taste. A good quality and very drinkable beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
650 ml bottle. Pours a brown amber with little head. Aromas of oranges, resin, and roasted malts. Flavours of a weak barley wine. Citrus hops and malts. But neither a good barley wine or DIPA.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, shared with my wife. A beautiful crystal clear orange coloured body topped by an orange-tinted crown. Aroma is sweet and candyish, ripe melon and peaches are suggested. The palate is candy-sweet as well, with an over-ripe papaya fruitiness, followed quickly by a sharp bitterness that has a distinct metallic edge to it. That metallic note is rather strange, and is what I often find with Tettnang hops for me, but there is no mention of noble hops here. Not sure where its coming from. In the end, this beerís biggest flaw is the lack of balance between the sticky-sweet candyish malts and the aggressively bitter hops. Not much complexity in the aromatics department. In the end, a bit tough to finish to be honest.
