3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at Kookfest 06. Dark brown, lasting beige head. Really is quite hoppy. US style hops. Malts need more structure and then good hops on end. Smells good, but palate lets it down.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle (bottle conditioned), bought from Memorable Cheeses, Ipswich. Consumed at Kookfest, September 2006. Best before 31 July 2005, but seemed to have held up alright. Has Harrisoni been cribbing from my notes? Mine say "Hoppy US character on the nose. Smells good but let down a little on the palate. Quite bitter". Perhaps we just have a telepathic understanding. Shame they don’t seem to be making this stuff any more.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Nose is malty, with some notes of caramel and a slight oxidised character. Palate showed some warmth from the alcohol, and remained quite simple and malty.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle @ Kookfest. Malty caramel and earthy nose. Hoppy peppery finish. Quite nice and unlike many UK beers of this strength didnt seem overly strong, but it didnt really grab my attention either.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Dull rustic brown, with zero carbonation. Old ale qualities. Raspberry and liquorice flavours which are subtle and very more’ish. Satin mouth feel. No sign of the alcohol at all.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A dark beer with red tints. The aroma is alcohol vapour and something I can't quite place. Flavours are malty and very dry, chalky dry in fact. This is earthy, boozy and didn't impress me much.
