Cask; Regular. Also available bottled.
Note: There is also a 3.8% cask version. It is not known whether there are any differences between the tw0o versions other than the small abv variation.

Castle Gold is a golden, light and hoppy session beer. 4.2 % ABV is very popular in the West Country where it is the summer drink of choice for discerning real ale enthusiasts, while 3.8% suits the London market.

Clear medium orange yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, grass, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, fruity, earthy notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120808]

500ml bottle - 15/06/12 Golden body with a cream head. Nose of cereal with honey and lemon. Lightly nutty and grassy. Flavours are biscuit with caramel and cereal. Lemon and peppery. Decent.

Cask@Bishops Stortford Festival 2010. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity and floral hops along with some bready malts. Flavour is being honeyish, bready malty, a bit caramelly as well as some slight grassy notes.

Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’11. Gold with white head. this beer has quite a honeyed, thickish flavour about it, sweet and quite floral. A little heavy going for a session beer for me, but reasonably drinkable.
