Bottle from ’Jacks’ Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon Tuesday 19th February 2013 consumed at home Tuesday 26th Feb 2013 Pours light amber with a veiled cloud of haze sitting within, head is white and slim. This tastes marvellous, softened by the oak it has a light vanilla edge, the citrussyness of the nose is also blunted a little by this as well. Taste is great, wonderfully citrussy but the oak ageing is marvellous, still it makes me do the ’snake flicky out tongue thing’ with a late double clack, very lemony, very good. In fact I have to say better than the very decent Buxton Wyoming. Dry towards the end, lovely lovely beer. A8 A4 T9 P4 Ov17 4.2

VERY GOOD! Great aroma, oak woodlands, country spring mornings after rain. Clear russet amber. Complicated. Starts gently, almonds, butter dough, oak chips, smooth. Then comes a blast of grapefruit citrus hops, breaking into seasoned malts. Crisp ending. Zingy oak aftertaste.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a slightly hazy amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is typical of a DIPA with a rich, uber hoppy nasal experience! The flavour is something of an extension of the aroma, with the American hops dominating the rich oaky flavour and with that lovely gorgeous dry spicy pepperness on the palate. There’s no fruit. It was murdered by the hops! This really is a super DIPA. Shame it’s only a special.

Bottle. Slighly hazy amber with nice off white head. Slightly dusty resinous pine, orange and just a little oak. Taste of caramel and resinous hops with a balanced measure of oak vanilla. Decent body, slightly sweet. If I had to nit pick, it could do with more bitterness. Not really sure about oak aged dipa in principal but this is the second one I’ve had that I’ve really enjoyed

Poured from a 330ml bottle into an Orval goblet glass. Pours a mid-amber colour with not a huge head but good lacing. Smells extremely fresh (because it was when I opened it). You can really smell those hops coming through, quite piney and fruity but above all fresh like a breezy summer day. Tastes at first quite mellow and smooth but a bitter sharpness builds up as you taste. Mostly quite citrusy and fruity, though those pale malts ease off the citrus. Very nice and refreshing with a good lingering and lip-smacking bitterness. Overall a really lovely beer, I wish I had more. Can’t wait for their future Tiny Batch releases.
