COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Probably the countries favourite word, Cwtch is our Welsh Red Ale. The complex malt base compliments its big hop flavours.

Cask at Lyric, Soho. It pours deep amber with a medium beige head. The nose is fruity, fresh pine, earth, leather and varnish. The taste is wood, earth, varnish, berry, touch of spice, zesty citrus and light caramel with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Lingering bitterness. Well balanced.

Half pint at Reading Beer Festival 2013. Orange-red, lightly gassy. Nice US-style hop aroma, zesty. Dry, rasiny hop. Hints of apricot.

[Cask at Reading BF] Bronze with a think white head. Green leafy hops with a light pine flavour. Little bit of detergent. Little bit of Stella Artois. Very disappointing, especially given the hype around this brewery at the moment.

Half pint from cask at the Cask Pub and Kitchen. Pours a dark amber/red colour with a small head. Smells sweet and fruity, dominant malts. Taste again dominated by a sweet, caramel malt, with bitter hops and a thin-medium mouthfeel. Strong flavours though. Overall a really nice beer.

Cask in the Barley Mow W1. Reddish brown in colour, came out bright. Hmm I like a nice hoppy modern red ale. Good malt character, bitter hop twang. Very smooth. If being picky, I’ve had these with a bit more juicy snap, but this is good solid beer. Not the most sensible artwork for the non-Welsh market, had a nightmare trying to explain what I wanted in the round!

Cask at The Courtfield on Earl’s Court Road. Pours quite ruddy with a white head. Aroma is a bit spicy. Med body. Flavor suggests rye spice with some floral/citrus. Finishing a little malty and decently bitter. Tasty.

(on cask @ Exmouth Arms) Pours a clear amber with little, white head that leaves nice lace. Aroma is juicy fruity hops with notes of passion fruit and cat’s pee. Oily texture, full bodied, softly carbonated with a balanced, malty sweet finish. Taste is relatively sweet but with hoppy fruity notes. Highly recommendable.

A good job my mate could read that that’s a W on the pumpclip - I had no idea. Anyway this is pretty decent, full-bodied for the style, fairly sweet malt nicely balanced by some earthy hop. Good beer.

Cask conditioned handpump Craft Beer Co EC1 London 28/02/13. An amber coloured beer with a whitish head. Sweet malts and good hoppiness as you’d expect from an Amber ale. Not too sweet which is spot on for me. A good body, and the hops are just right. Very tasty. A red ale done well which can be a rare thing.
