Bottle 33cl. Clear medium amber, good two finger frothy off-white head, slowly diminishing, light lacing; strong fruity nose, grapefruit, orange, malty, grass; taste medium bitter and light sweet, fruity; light to medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, lingering dry bitter aftertaste, herbal notes; not very red but a nice ale anyway.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
In a bottle. Malty aroma with a hint of citrus. Rich flavour with tropical fruit salad hops & quite a bitter finish for a red ale. An excellent session sup-er.

Sweet peachy, haylike aroma. Clear, brown/red colour with a nice foamy slightly off-white head. Flavours are rich but subtile. Full of copperlike, yoghurt, tulips and juniperberries and grassyness. Nice round, little bitter aftertaste. Great beer!

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cloudy reddish body and large thick two fingered head. Very complex palate, way too much going on in there, tasted of a strong IPA, much stronger than it’s alcohol content suggests, aftertaste overbearing. All in all an ale that tries too hard.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330 ml bottle from Hot Numbers Coffee, Cambridge. Amber, almost clear, with a slight cloud of off-white head. Pine, bubblegum, slight vinous notes, mango, forest floor aroma. Taste is mostly sweet with just enough bitterness to give it balance. The bitterness increases a bit toward the finish, with a final hit of apple-skin sourness. An excellent choice for Champion Beer of Britain, and everything an amber beer should be.
