DruncanVeasey (7285) - NUNEATON, Top 22, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JAN 24, 2014
Cask, Famous Royal Naval Volunteer, Bristol, 17/01/14. White-haloed mahogany. Cinder toffee, coffee grounds and blackcurrant/blueberry nose. That flavour with an earthy woodland, citrusy coffee base overlaid with blueberry and bitter chocolate. Some grilled veg and pepper. Curry leaf hop. Balanced flavoursome...whatever it is.

(Cask at Holborn Whippet, Holborn, London, 19 Nov 2013) Dark brown colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, hoppy nose with roasted malt, dark bread, citrus and pine needles. Roasted, hoppy taste with dark bread, citrus, pine needles and a decent bitterness with fresh hops in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty and quite drinkable. Nice one.

Otterdance (164) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - SEP 5, 2013
Norwich Tap House. Dark brown with a small head that quickly disappeared. Tasted like woodland -with pine, earth plus some dark malty cake and coffee. A tad thin with fine carbonation. Didn’t really feel like I was drinking a BIPA, more of a rebellious porter.

Cask-conditioned at the Red Lion, Cricklade 27/8/2013. Near black with a slight, off-white head. Orange peel, grapefruit, fruit cake, spice and a hint of pine, with a dryish finish. Very good.

One third pint, keg menu at the Hanging Bat. Opaque coal black body, spotty lacing. Dark fruity nose joined by cocoa hints. Red orange and earthy malty flavours. Roasted bitter ending. Semi-dry. Fine bodied, in fact, and good to drink (Edinburgh 08.08.2013).

HogTownHarry (6126) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - AUG 22, 2013
August 22, 2013 - hand-pull cask at Craft Beer Co (Brixton). Deep and clear mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is light nutty roast, a lot of pungent green herbal bitterness and ... Peat? Taste - yep - peat; pungent and quite greenly bitter, for a lighter bodied beer - malty initially, then dry and earthy and pungently coating in the finish. Doesn’t feel fully gelled but very nice at that.

KyotoLefty (6581) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 20, 2013
Cask at CBC Clerkenwell. Roasty, hoppy nose, coffee, citrus hop, some chocolate. Dark brown with orange tints and bubbles. Rosty flavor of coffee. A bit thin and light. Earthy, grassy, well bitter finish. Not so much of the IPA character, just a slightly hoppy dry stout. Not so special.
