A unique schizophrenic beer where you’ll face off against floral hoppy flavours up front, leading into a dry spicy bitterness on the back. Need something a bit different to wake up your taste buds? It’s time to get a FUBAR.

On cask at Ship and Castle in Aberwystwyth (or however the hell you spell it). Light gold color. Light carbonation. Very hoppy american-like hop aromas. Citrus. Bright hoppy flavor. Dryish.

Golden beer with a white head. Sweet fruity smell. Kick of lemony hop up front but it does get a bit drier and mellow out a bit. Balances quite nicely and there’s a mellow fruity spice taste that hangs around too. Very drinkable.

Clear golden, sparkling with tiny bubbles, huge frothy off-white head and sticky lacing. Semisweet aroma has citrus and pale malt, bit soapy, tangerine, also bit herb and floral notes. Light to medium body, low carbonation, medium bitterness, earthy malt, bit woody notes, finish dries. Balanced, ok, nothing special.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours yellow with a slight haze and a white head. Very fresh almost minty aroma. Light body, a dry fruitiness and only a vague, sweet reminder of the malts. Ends dry and very quenching. 240216

Bottle. Pours clear golden yellow with medium foamy white head. Aroma is grain, malt, copper, hops, spruce, orange, mandarin peel, grass and "bending magnet cooling water". Taste is light to medium sweet, light bitter and light to medium acidic. Body is light syrupy with soft carbonation. Finish off long and balanced sweet, bitter and acidic with notes that follow the nose.

330 ml bottle, from Matkroken Stokka. BB date 3/14. ABV is 4.4%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Remarkably floral aroma, also notes of caramel and herbs. Medium dry flavour, herbal English hops, moderate bitterness. Good now, probably even better when fresher. Would buy again.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE 11/2016, at Angleterre, 20160210) The beer poured deep golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, grass and creamy toffee. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, sweetness, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A well-done hoppy brew with low ABV.

330mL bottle BBE: 11.2016. Chilled (approx. 8 degrees). Pours an orangey amber body with medium haze and a mid-sized, tight, persistent, off-white head. On the nose: citrus fruit, basil, mint, and a little piney resin. Medium intensity. A moderate sweetness gives way to a medium, spicy bitterness before the malt re-emerges alongside the hoppy character. Fubar has a medium-light body, slightly oily texture, average carbonation and a lasting bittersweet finish. A stand out among so many bland British golden ales, there’s so much to like about this beer.
