Bottle from Corks of Cotham, Bristol. Lovely deep copper in colour with a decent, off-white head. Peach, tangerine and sherbet aroma with some grassy hops. Big, caramel and unripe tropical fruit flavours, with some solid, savoury malts, black pepper and a lingering, dry finish. Unusual.

Bottle. Hazy golden with a medium sized white head. Pine, lots of citrus, candied fruit and tropical fruits in the nose. Flavor is also hop forward with pine, wood, citrus, light hay and white bread, light alcohol. Medium body, fine carbonation, medium sweet and bitter. The alcohol feels a little, but otherwise very drinkable.

Excellent IPA from a microbrewery which is very much on the ascendent. Sold in 1/3 of a pint at their Cardiff outlet. Big alcohol content, certainly couldnít have a long session on this! Hops+++ Citrus. Very bitter. If íProper Jobí didnít exist this might be my new favourite ale, on 2nd thoughts itís much stronger than íProper Jobí so may need a few more samplings. Needs to get a much more widespread distribution.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep orange and cloudy. Nice head. Nose - resin, earthy, light citrus and toffee. Taste - more earthiness, then marmalade. A touch of spice. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry and persistent finish. Overall - not as fruity as many strong ipas but a good balance between sweet and bitter elements.

Pours golden, almost amber. Clear. Aroma is resiny and almost medicinal, liquid hops. Taste is similar, lots of resins. Pine needles and some herbal hops. Aftertaste is quite pleasant, lingering and not too bitter.

Bottled. Pours slightly hazy pale amber with an average off-white head. Aroma of citrus, pine and caramel. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. A very nice IPA. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

A fresh brew and thatís very import to what they u did here. As it does certainly not carry the cleanliness and is more malty than your average American example, this ipa had to, and does, stand on straight through its fresh hops, giving an aroma that justifies the higher abv. It still isnít as drinkable as a top class American, but itís certainly enjoyable as a slower sipper. Thereís enough character to do with. (33cl bottle from Saveur BiŤre)
