Cask at CPK - Pimlico, London. Big cheers to Mr. Bois for the tip. Pours dark brown with a frothy tan cap. Well toasted bread in the nose with just a modicum of piney hops. Light sweet flavor with good roasted malt character, burnt pine, toasted sugar and dark fruits. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderate dryness to finish with further dark fruits, darkened bread, light milk chocolate and subtle roast. Tasty. It’s like a black IPA lite. Nice bit of flavor but still very drinkable.

Cask @ Urban Taphouse, Cardiff. Extremely lively with cobwebs, lime, green tea, leaves and a citrus tingle. At least that’s what my notes say.

Cask. Black with a little scummy head. Smell - hoppy, passionfruit, feet, cheese. Body - medium to full, a little foamy. Taste - toned down fruits…mango/passionfruit. Very drinkable and balanced. No complaints - quaffable.
