Cask handpull, PoW, Hinckley, 15/03/14. Clear chestnut under a wisp of halo. Nose of bourbon and strawberries with a rub of beeswax. Slightly mildewed blueberry taste with sesame sprinkles and a hint of dry roasted to finish. Bit ordinary.

wimpyjoe (3694) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 25, 2014
Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Chestnut-red with a thick head. Has a smooth sweetness with lots of sweet berry aromas and flavours. It’s also hard to spot the strength in this one.

Craft Clerkenwell. Cask. Hazy amber beer, small pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth and light with modest fine carbonation. Fresh tasting malt with light toffee. Lightly bitter dried fruits. Mild piney hops. Finishes smooth with touches of citrus and grass. Mild bitter linger.

Svesse (6065) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JAN 20, 2014
(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 11 Jan 2014) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with caramel, dark fruit and dark bread. Malty, slightly roasted taste with notes of dark fruit, dark bread, orange peel, crisp-bread and fresh spicy hops in a finish with a generous bitterness. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Quite bold, but very well balanced. Very nice winter warmer.

Keg at Akkurat, Stockholm. Hazy copper/brown, creamy head. Fruity caramelly nose. Sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Roasty with plenty of caramel. Quite bitter finish.

Leighton (10674) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 7, 2014
Cask at CPK - Pimlico, London. Pours clear, deep gold with a foamy white head. Tasty stuff, some ripe fruits, graham crackers, toasted bread, ripe fruits, subtle toffee and leather. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Mild warmth to finish with leathery fruits and dry bread. Not bad at all.

KnutAlbert (6067) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 2, 2014
Cask at CASK Pimlico. Dark red. True to type. Very malty, oxidized beer, just the right sourness. No hops to speak of. Interesting, but not moreish.

Theydon_Bois (8081) - The ’Sham, Surrey, ENGLAND - DEC 9, 2013
Cask at the Cask, Pimlico, 06/12/13. Lightly hazed dark amber/copper with a good sized bubbly beige head. Nose is fruit punch, tarte fruit, bready malts, fruit loaf, hint of toffee. Taste comprises tangy dark fruit, hint of perfume, cake mix, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry fruity conclusion. Ok but prefer TR’s hoppier efforts.

3.4
   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 15/20
Osprey87 (1579) - WALES - DEC 6, 2013
Cask - Dark brown with a small bubbly white head. Not very pretty. Smell - toned down American hops, slight smoke. Body is medium to light and slightly foamy. Taste - more toned down American hops, toffee, chemical and TCP. Hops give a chemical character. Drinkable but the chemical is coming through too much. It’s between a 3.3 and a 3.4, and I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt.
