Our ‘Maori Pale Ale’ came together after months of experimentation with a very unique hop – Nelson Sauvin from New Zealand. Strong grape flavours are complimented by the sweet Munich malt, makings this beer crisp and refreshing.

Dull tan colour off the keg. Lychee nose of kiwi hops, the fizz is a shock but the taste is pure kiwi goodness, all pale malts, lychees and lime.

Keg at Hanging Bat, you won’t like the smell son, but this is the full nelson. Fine pale, lots of hops, slightly floral and citrus, good for a session, followed by the Full Nelson.....he he

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a hazy light amber with a long-lasting frothy white head and lots of broken lace. The aroma is tropical fruit hop yeast. The flavour is medium bitter with a dry spice pepper hop palate and a short bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo. Burnished orange-gold with a high and rocky whip of foam. Lovely stewed greenery on the nose suggesting tomato vine and Darjeeling; dragon fruit, Jelly Tots, lime zest. More punchy stewed greenery, juniper suggestions and a celery-like freshness on the palate underlaid with crunchy biscuit base. Fine brew.

Bottled, 330ml from S.H Jones, Banbury. Gold with white head. There was a lovely tropical fruit aroma on opening the bottle which gladly transferred onto the palate on drinking. Tangy, zesty hop flavours, the kiwi fruit notes from the Nelson Sauvin hop with a light spruce background. Hints of hay along with a crisp biscuity malt body. Good stuff.

Cask at the Beamish beer festival. A light amber ale. Nice and hoppy. Some syrupy notes and a good pine finish. Good stuff.
