Our ‘Maori Pale Ale’ came together after months of experimentation with a very unique hop – Nelson Sauvin from New Zealand. Strong grape flavours are complimented by the sweet Munich malt, makings this beer crisp and refreshing.

Cask at CPK. Pale amber orange, still, foamy white head, light lacing. Aroma is yeasty, farts. Body is light , touch of carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is resin, card, metallic. Woah, this is not good. Worst beer I’ve had in ages, actually. Something went terribly wrong somewhere along the line.

Keg at Pure Bar and Kitchen, Birmingham. Delicious hoppy aroma. Tastes like the wooden rulers at my old primary school. Crisp, clear and refreshing.

from a 33cl bottle, pours a hazy dark amber color with an off white small head, staying about one mil think. Aroma is surprising wonderful, strong sweet hops and floral. Flavors of roasted malts, floral sweet malts, herbs, cereal. Low carbonation, low bitterness and a bit watery finish. But nice pleasant and refreshing.

A 4.8% APA. Bottle at the GJBF in Osaka 2014. A great looking copper gold with a HUGE aroma of NZ hops that literally made me say wow: orange, passion fruit, pine, resin - great. Medium bodied with a slick mouthfeel. The taste is nowhere near as complex, pine bark, light tropical fruits, nutty woodsiness. Totally different from the nose good but kind of a mindfuck. A bit of a flowery daffodil type finish.

Tropical fruit, honey. Rich fruity malt, peach, pulpy mango, hoppy finish. Quite smooth and enjoyable, a pleasant Welsh surprise.

Strong tropical fruit aroma; watermelon, passionfruit and grapes. Some resin in the background. Pours light amber with thick white head which slowly dissipates. Very light body with the tropical fruit flavours transferring to the palate. Nice level of bitterness throughout. Really good sessionable ale.

330 ml bottle from Les Vignerons. Light sunrise orange, slightly hazy, with an average, slightly creamy, moderately persistent bright white head. Not the freshest aroma, but quite interesting and unusual. Quite a bit of citrus, mild white grapes notes, yeast and fruit esters influence, some berries/sweet jam presence as well. Little maltiness in the background, very subtle. Kinda watery as expected, medium level of bitterness, and slightly maltier than the aroma indicated. Good dryness, lingering floral, fruity and semi-sweet aftertaste. Average carbonation, light to medium body, slightly creamy texture. Certainly a well balanced APA, nice.
