COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our ĎMaori Pale Aleí came together after months of experimentation with a very unique hop Ė Nelson Sauvin from New Zealand. Strong grape flavours are complimented by the sweet Munich malt, makings this beer crisp and refreshing.

Cask conditioned handpump Southampton Arms London 13/05/13. A golden beer with a white head and lace. Noticeable NS hops with a biscuity note. However the expected gooseberry or sauvignon notes just donít shine and instead itís just a competent relatively tasty golden ale.

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique March 2014. Quirky labels and good beer. Dark amber with a tidy head. There is a hidden sweetness in this beer but you have to work to find it.

33cl bottle. Orangish golden colour with a small white head. Fruity aroma. Average to heavy carbonation and medium body. Taste quite bitter, but a bit masked by the exaggerated carbonation. Overall, could be an excellent beer but did I mentioned the carbonation problem?

4.8% ABV. "Maori" Pale Ale. No head. All you need to do is close your eyes and your head fills with visions of vines pregnant and heavy with fruit. Thatís the whole idea after all. You get all this courtesy of the Nelson Savin hop which also lends so much brightness to Buxtonís Axe Edge. The first mouthful is full of bubbly bright carbonation, just bordering on silly, but not quite. Iím not sure the Munich malt was the right decision, but Iíll be the last to question a brewmaster and all the good work that brewmasters do and all the joy they bring into the world. It was a little heavy, a little salty and gave a very promising nose some very weird malty, wheaty finishing notes on the palate. Ok, but not going on my favorites list. Hugs and kisses to the brewmaster though for having enough integrity to go big.

29/VIII/14 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ home - BB: V/2015 (2014-956) Thanks to Bene for picking this one up for me!

Clear blond beer, creamy white head, pretty stable, adhesive. Aroma: fruity, white grapes, sweet touch. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, some citrus, grapes, some kiwi, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: bit watery, grassy, sourish, lemony. lychee, nice bitterness, lemon peel, dry ending with a lot of fruity notes.

Bottle at Barely Legal Tasting Room . Pours yellow, with an orange glow, and good white head . Smell is typical nelson, perfumy , floral . Taste is stonefruit , one of these typical sides of Nelson Sauvin . Carbonation is way to high . Sadly enough , iím a bit dissapointed after having 2 really good beers by them . This is certainly not a bad beer, but nothing really special, and I just do not like overcarbonation at all .

Bottle - poured two glasses, one was clear golden and one had a slight haze so presumably there was sediment in the bottle. Both featured a large bubbly white head which gradually faded to a ring. Aroma of wheat, grass, pear, orange and yeasty notes. Taste is wheat, malt, grass and earth with a hint of lime and some smoke. Medium and very dry body with a prickly carbonation.

330 ml bottle at home. Pours clear light orange with a tiny white head. Subtle grassy hops nose, slight lychee and pink peach. Light on the palate with a refreshing spring soft bitterness, and a buttery crreamy mouthfeel. Taste is a bit bland with green hops towards the end. Quenching and refreshing.
