On tap at Port Street Beer House, Manchester. Pours black with a medium-sized, well lasting head. Taste is richly roasty with notes of wood, coffee and rye bread. Taste is light sweet, later medium roasty; notes of caramel, sweet bread, dark fruit, some spiciness. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth; fairly flat in carbonation. Overall a very interesting porter.

Cask Stillage at Dudley Beer Festival 27/11/14. Black beer with a tan head, Malty chocolate, hint of smoke, roasted oak. A fantastic beer and best one I sampled at the Beer Festival. Very very tasty.

Intriguing. The nose doesn’t give anything away, but the taste is full of surprises - toffee and bubblegum notes in quite a satisfying finish. On tap at the Wheaty.

(Draught at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm, 21 Feb 2014) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of dried fruit, raisins, chocolate, coffee and dark cherries. Malty, fruity taste with chocolate, coffee, dried fruit, prunes, hints of wood and a balanced bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Quite a fruity porter, with a touch of wood. Nice one.

Cask (?), Small Bar, Bristol, 17/01/14. Headless ruby, gentle condition. Nose cherry Tunes; vinous splashes, blackcurrant boiled sweet. Slick and dark with cherry, menthol, mildly roasted, mocha and berry notes. Slightly earthy with soft lactic, nutty and coffee flavours unfolding. Complex but very drinkable. Good.
