UPDATED: APR 5, 2015 Cask from Den Engel, Leek. A deep ruby to black colour with a thin tan head. Aroma of wood, dark fruits like cherry and plum plus some liquorice. Taste of similar dark fruits, light caramel, some liquorice and spicy hops. Medium bodied and a smooth texture. A warming, fruity finish. Warming to begin with then smooth and fruity to finish with, really nice.

On tap at Port Street Beer House, Manchester. Pours black with a medium-sized, well lasting head. Taste is richly roasty with notes of wood, coffee and rye bread. Taste is light sweet, later medium roasty; notes of caramel, sweet bread, dark fruit, some spiciness. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth; fairly flat in carbonation. Overall a very interesting porter.

Intriguing. The nose doesn’t give anything away, but the taste is full of surprises - toffee and bubblegum notes in quite a satisfying finish. On tap at the Wheaty.

(Draught at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm, 21 Feb 2014) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of dried fruit, raisins, chocolate, coffee and dark cherries. Malty, fruity taste with chocolate, coffee, dried fruit, prunes, hints of wood and a balanced bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Quite a fruity porter, with a touch of wood. Nice one.
