Pale yellow pour with a strong haze and white head. Light lemon peel note, some wheat and bread sweetness, a fair amount of clove, and a hint of banana. The flavor has a nice bit of bread and wheat. Some clove, banana, and a hint of bubblegum. A mild lemon peel note.

Pours a very pale, cloud yellow with a thin white head that quickly fades away leaving small amounts of lacing as the beer is drank. First smell is overwhelmingly phenolic. As the beer sits more esters show themselves. First taste is medicinal followed by an alcohol like burn that is surprising coming from a relatively low ABV beer. I thought perhaps the bottle was bad so grabbed another from the same six pack, same results. The spice and lemon in the beer attempts to grab attention, but are barely noticeable against the phenols. The mouthfeel was light and overly carbonated. Not a pleasant experience at all, am hoping it’s a bad batch. Will try again in the future and update the review.

Tasted at the brewpub on 3/28/2011. This wheat ale pours a slightly hazy light yellow gold color. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is cereal and grainy, with a hint of hops. A medium bodied wheat ale. The malts are cereal and sweet. The hops are herbal and citrusy. Good carbonation. A slightly hoppy wheat beer. Easy drinking, would be good for a warm summer night. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle @ Yosemite National Park and drank while washing the Half Dome. What an experience and the only way to enjoy this beer I guess. Average fin bubbled white head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Light cloudy orange golden color. Aroma of light yeast, fruit, citrus, wheat, hint of banana and what appeared as somewhat spicy. Light bodied with an average carbonation. Moderated sweet and light acidic flavor. Light fresh yeasty fruity sweet finish. Quite nice, but it could have been effected by the surroundings.

Purchased at Grocery Outlet at Watt & Whitney in Sacramento County. Aroma and flavor are pretty contemporary of hefeweizen with apricot, peach, spiciness and wheat/bread. Actually better than I expected as I only paid $4.99 for a 6-pack. Actually, this stuff is decent. Not great, but good. Overall, good.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2012 2012: Tap at the West Coast Brewfest. This comes across as a non-earthy saison. Grains of paradise are the little peppery aspects. Very good on tap. 2008: Bottle from Grocery Outlet in Woodland. Brewed in Roseville. Slightly hazy orange gold color with a multifinger white head. Smells of citrus hop. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is wheat, citrus and something more. It’s a really tasty wheat. Finishes somewhat astringent. Really refreshing.
