Jack's Revenge is a very deep, dark strong ale with a long malty finish. Its strength is well balanced by a carefully chosen hop blend. Goes well with roast beef. One of a trilogy of beers based upon ghost stories from the Norfolk Broads.

Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Cloudy dark nut brown, small coarse head. Fruity roasty nose with some bubblegum. Fairly sweet with velvetty soft mouthfeel. Chewy, gently roasty malt gives a mouthfilling solid body and pleasant flavors of wheat bread, spuns sugar and chocolate. Gently warming finish with some light coffee bitterness.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2007, bottled bright and drunk on train home. Very deep ruby with no head. Decent choc and coffee. Good English porter, smooth, rounded. Nice. Superb English portery style beer actually.

Bottle, thx to Brugmansia. Pours a clear, dark brown body with just some beige bubbles for a head. Roasted, bonfire sour, dusty nose with some coffee. The flavor isn’t very pleasant, it has a strange sourish bonfire taste, and some coffee and roasted malt pulling in the right direction. Medium body, flat and dry. The finish goes in the same direction as the initial flavor. Gone bad? At least it didn’t suit my palate. (080823)

Bottle conditioned, 500ml from Tipples bottle Shop, Norwich. Dark brown, ruby with brownish head. I opened this with trepidation as my previous Tipples bottled beers had been a disaster, however; I needn’t have worried, this was full malty, coffee, chocolate with sweet undertones, it was a decent beer, good stuff.
