COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jack's Revenge is a very deep, dark strong ale with a long malty finish. Its strength is well balanced by a carefully chosen hop blend. Goes well with roast beef. One of a trilogy of beers based upon ghost stories from the Norfolk Broads.

[thank you, Brugsmansia/fonefan]
Pours clear broen with virtually no head. Aroma is sweet, light chocolate and coffee with some toffee notes. Flat and a little bit thin. Flavour is dry, lots of roasted notes giving way to sweet chocolate and coffee in fine balance.

Bottle conditioned, 500ml from Tipples bottle Shop, Norwich. Dark brown, ruby with brownish head. I opened this with trepidation as my previous Tipples bottled beers had been a disaster, however; I needn’t have worried, this was full malty, coffee, chocolate with sweet undertones, it was a decent beer, good stuff.

Botella. Deep dark brown colour with a short head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, bit coffee and caramel. Soft pleasant mouthfeel. Flavour has lots of chocolate with a good soft roasty maltiness, coffee and caramel. Dry roasty malty chocolate finish.

TFODRBSG08 Courtesy of Brugmansia. The color is dark brown with a red hue. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and a little chocolate. The mouthfeel is flat and the flavour has notes of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, a light sweetness and hints of fruit. It’s hard to believe, that this isn’t a porter.

Bottle. Black with a beige head. Aromas are sweet and earthy with mollasses. Oaty and rich, smells dark. Flavours are sweet malts with roast and smoky notes. Rich and dark. Good stuff.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, consumed outside my tent at Towersey Festival Dark brown with little head to speak of, quite smokey on the aroma but with some bitter chocolate and coffee in there. Coffee more prominent in the taste, very tasty beer by the way, dark fruits and nicely underpinned with a good solid malty base, lovely beer.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm, 10 Nov 2008) Very dark ruby colour, almost black, with brief foamy brown head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dark fruit, chocolate, wild berries and hints of port. Malty, fruity taste with chocolate, sweetened black coffee and dark fruit. Medium body, fairly sweet. Low carbonation makes it quite flat. Nicely balanced with a bittersweet finish. In short: bittersweet fruit and chocolate with a touch of port.
