COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Belew is a hearty American Red Ale or something. Hopped intensely with Amarillo and Columbus. Think Fripp but stronger and hoppier (happier?).

hazy amber, puffy white head dies fast and laces spottily. Dirty orange and manure nose, bordering arsenic with decent dust. Orange and burnt sugar front with tons of sweetness mid, biting teeth until the oily light toast finish, dirty water end.

Pour is a cloudy reddish hue. Nice balanced malt with clinging citrus hop presence. Very good hoppy red. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Growler, a few hours old from the source. Dense brown with beige froth. Nose is dank basement, cherry and musk. Oily medium body with soft carb finishing dry and resiny. Taste is grassy pine, slight toffee and earth.

Draft. Red pour with white head. Light hoppy red ale hop tones, some light malt tones. Flavor is similar to Zoe, light hops, smooth finish.

reggiedunlop (3107) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 23, 2014
Pours a reddish amber with a medium tan head...thin lacing. Aroma has some pine and lots of toasty grains and cereal. Flavor follows suit...bready/toasty malts, toffee...pine edges its way in nicely. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is dry and fairly bitter.

PhillyCraft (3307) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 23, 2014
Draft. pours orange, with light head, and not much lacing. Notes are mostly bread, malt, light toffee, and Columbus hops. Light and easy going but not my thing.

jredmond (5440) - Manhattan, New York, USA - MAR 22, 2014
Draft at tired hands with pj. Pours a deep hazy brownish red body with light white lacing. Aroma is full of pine and resin. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of super fresh pine, resin, grapefruit, sweet caramel candies and toffee. Really interesting - reading the descriptions I wouldn’t think "toffee" would go well with a hoppy profile.

Brackish amber colored body, thin light tan head, spotty lacing. Pine, resin, toast, toffee, and earth. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, fairly assertive bitterness, surprisingly dry. Not too shabby.
