Simcoe APA beer/cider hybrid. 49% of the fermentable sugar came from Tom Culton’s amazing Heirloom Apple/Pear/Quince cider.

Growler shared at Dadsgiving, big thanks to Dallas, 24/11/13. Hazed blonde with a thin off white covering. Nose is light fart, earthy hoppage, bitter orange, grass, pine. Taste comprises dank hops, pine resin, grass, orange pith, pear juice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry grassy fruit tang in the closure. Decent hybrid.

Growler at Dadsgiving! Pours a lightly hazed yellow gold with a thin to medium sized white head. Musky and cheesy on the nose, funky. Medium-bodied, a bit sweet and funky, a touch of acidity, crisp and bright. Tangy apples and a bit of musk into the finish. Very nice.

Pours a pale yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of lemon, grass, white wine. Typical TH IPA feel. Thinner feel and higher carb. Slight tart taste.

On tap at the brewery. Aroma is muddled citrus: kiwi, starfruit, passionfruit with a dirty cider underneath. Pours beautifully blonde with a decent but soft head. Taste is dirty apples, citrus rind, and a muddled malt. This one just didn’t come together for me. They went for both cider and IPA and ended up with neither.

Growler at Dadsgiving. Pours gold with white head. Nose and taste of grapefruit, pine, lemon, woody apples and light pear. Lighter medium body.

Pours a clear pale yellow with a thick white head. Aroma is herbal and almost grassy/scallion...fresh and green. Flavor follows suit and meets a cidery tartness halfway through. Mouthfeel is light and the finish is grassy/scalliony with a green cidery note...fresh and green!

(Double dry-hopped w/ simcoe cask version). Cloudy yellow body, medium white head, decent lacing. Citrus, mild stonefruits, earth, light acidity, cereals, some astringency in the back end. Medium bodied, carbonation is a bit disjointed between the front and back of each sip as the cider-derived sugars take over during each sip.

8oz Cask at TH... Murky light yellow color, big head... Nose of some funk, slight tartness, apple, fruity hops... Taste is light tartness, fruity hops with just a touch of bitterness, oat like... kind of reminded me of a Berliner. Light body easy to drink, effervescence. Overall: Unique, drinkable, solid beer.

hands culton hop: double dry hopped with simcoe, on cask, pours super murky, with medium to large white head that sticks around for a minute or two. Aromas of lemon, simcoe, crisp apples, pear, oats, and minerals. Flavor is subtle tart lemon, grains, wood, light cider, and some juicy hop notes courtesy of the simcoe dry hopping. Overall this is somewhat muted, none of the ingredients truly win out. Medium bodied. Finishes a tad grainy and tart. Overall I dig it for its earthiness and sessionability.
