Bottle at Haydens. Poured a hazy brown with light to medium beige head. Aromas and taste are sour cherry, beautiful oak, apricot, skins, dust, dark grapes, chocolate and light roast. Good bit of acidic fruits working well together. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. This was awesome.

Sorry I didn’t take notes but I can say that this one was superior to the Nebula but that both products were stellar! I’m not usually one to accept such experimentations with a style that is meant to be simple and quenching but this one had some really nice barrel notes without the bourbon showing and a really fun acidity. Highly appreciated!

bottle. pours murky brown with a very nice beige head, good retention and lacing. overwhelmed and hypnotized by the aroma: just incredibly complex and every component blends in and fits just right. tannins and red wine and bourbon barrels, also pinot noir and cabernet franc, complex bretty funk, loads of fruitiness - obvious tart and sweet cherries, but also tart apricots, plums, earthy and grassy, demerara, toffee and almost burnt but delicious belgian candi - welcomed sweetness, spiciness. soft and constant carbonation, ligt to medium body, lightly acidic and grassy-earthy finish. barrel-aged wonder..

Bottle (500 ml). Thanks to Bruce! Brown with a small beige head and tiny lacing. Aroma is really complex with winey notes, cherries, subtle bourbon presence, roasted malt and oak. Taste is slightly to moderately sweet, winey with tart cherries, roasted malt, grapes and oak. Mouthfeel is winey and dry. Medium body. Extremely complex beer, enjoyable and well balanced. It’s more of a sipper than a refreshing Saison though. Another great barrel aged beer by Tired Hands!

Pours a dark brown and beige head, little lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, dark fruits, wine and oak notes, a bit sour on the nose. Taste is vinous, oak, a bit of vanilla, roasted malts, tart cherries, tart, light acetic notes. Low body and medium carbonation. Again, not a fan of dark sours, but still well done.

Bottle at home with friends. Pour is deep brown/black with a frothy tan head and decent lacing. Raspberries, dark cherries, a touch of bourbon, oak, toffee, light prunes, red grapes, and Cabernet barrels in the aroma. Taste is toffee, spice, cherries, light cinnamon, whiskey, caramel, raisins, and red wine with a lightly tart finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Really nice barrel-aged saison.

Stephen is the shit. Dark brownish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of nice cherries, some spice notes, hints of oak, chocolate, touch of bread, caramel, hints of roast, nice molasses, slight tart fruit notes, nice. Taste is a mix of nice tart cherries, mix of sweet caramel, molasses, touch of spice, cinnamon, going into roast, slight tart fruit notes, finishing fairly bitter, roasted, slight tart notes.

Bottle @ Stephen’s house, courtesy of Steve_0. Thanks! Pours a dark brown appearance with a brown head. Rich black cherry, a bit spicy whiskey, light grape, mild caramel/chocolate, somewhat herbal, somewhat spicy aroma. Somewhat tart, rich berry/cherry, chocolate, somewhat woody, whiskey, tangy flavor. Kind of an interesting beer.

Pours a deep mahogany brown with a finger of eggshell foam. The nose is earthy barrel, wet leaves, vinous cherry and a touch of chocolate and bourbon as well. The palate is a good balance between acidic vinous cherry, round chocolate brownie sweetness and traces of boozy bourbon barrel funk. Nice flowing palate that finishes with a balanced complexity ! Tasty.
