Distinguished by red wax on the 500 ml bottle. Jim Beam barrel fermented Guillemot. Single barrel/not blended. Fermented atop 45 lbs of local tart cherries.

Pours brownish red a small beige head. Aroma is sour lactic cherry bourbon funk. A little toasty flavor, but great funky sweet dark cherry and alcohol. Light body and very warming. Delicious.

50cl bottle at Campground Brewdown. Minimal tan head atop black body with brown edge. Aroma is moderately sweet, vinous, some prune, cocoa, Bourbon. Taste is moderately sweet, vinous, some prune, sour, light Bourbon. Medium-full body, some stickiness, low carbonation.

Bottle... Pours dark brown (nearly black) with a small, creamy, mushroom-colored head. The nose is a mťlange of cherry, oak and red wine. Medium to full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and laid-back carbonation. Tastes a lot like the Guillemot Nebula, but thereís more cherry in the nose and flavor here. Tangy, lightly roasty finish. Acquired in a trade. Thanks Tooch! No idea why mine is totally covered in red wax but whatever.

A - Pours a reddish amber brown out of the bottle. almost pitch black in the glass. Mild carbonation forms and resides.

S - Nose is pretty interesting. Obviously sour fruits dominate. Lots of oak. Biscuit and cinnamon notes and vanilla bean. Acidity that levels on fresh espresso.

T - The whiskey comes through very strong in taste. This is quite nice! Itís sweet, dry and cloying all at once. Lovely tart blackberry / cherry mix. The whiskey is solid leaving behind wood, vanilla and cereal. The fruit & whiskey is blended in no way Iíve ever had before. Really solid beer.

M - Silky smooth with coffee & berry acidity throughout. Slick almost and not overpowering.

O - Low ratings so far makes me think this one isnít a large bottling run but Iím glad to have tried it.

Bottle from Jim. Thanks! A: Dark black with an off-creme head. Good legs. N: Lactic acid, lemon zest, grapefruit, banana, horse blanket, some touches of coffee, cocoa, and plenty of oak. T: Very sour with an element of bitterness. Oak is prevalent, and thereís a touch of whiskey sweetness. M: Light and chipper. Graceful comes to mind. O: Complex and elicious. Would definitely have this if it came across my path a second time.

Thanks to Michael for this one. Awesome aroma, strawberry/cherry cobbler, scones. Solid tart Flemish overtones but thereís more to this one. Oaky and leathery, windfallen cherries mixing with earth, lactic acid, tannins.

Bottle thanks to GT. Iíll be a bit more concise with my rating [:39]. Almost black in color with a nice tan head. Really complex nose. Tons of cherry, leather, plum, and oak. Smoke, bourbon, and tobacco. A bit of a red wine note, too. Kind of balsamic as well. The flavor is nicely tart and somewhat acetic. Balsamic and red wine vinegars. Oak, bourbon, leather, cherry, and plum. A touch of booze on the finish. Really nice.

UPDATED: JUL 22, 2013 500mL b1 red wax thanks to a trade on BA. Yes, it is my 6,000th rating. No, itís not Bud Light Picante or drowlandís purple drank malt liquor. Itís not even CIB Orange Scorpion. What it is though is a culmination of five years on ratebeer that has taken me from being a freshman in college insisting on Stella Artois over Busch Light to a sophomore just discovering German weissbier while backpacking Europe to trying Duck-Rabbit/Cantillon/Stone as a junior at my local bottle shop in Chapel Hill, NC. Then it keeps growing exponentially meeting ratebeerians in person as I moved to Washington DC thanks to Travlr. Ratings go from the hundreds to the thousands. Beers I would never have dreamt of trying like J&J Blauw became commonplace. Now the best of the world was at my fingertips. Everyone that was anyone in the beer world was suddenly accessible and tangible. The best beers on earth were no longer a myth, they were in my glass. What a humbling and fortunate experience for anyone to go from pauper to prince. It is simply an equation of generous friends and wonderful kinship. Alesmith IPA on tap at my wedding along with a champagne toast of Cantillon Iris 2005 and guest list including my best friends from this website should paint a picture for you of how serious I take beer but also how serious I take my friends from this hobby. They are not just friends, they are family. Now that I live in a totally new part of the world, Los Angeles, I already have a close group of friends thanks to this website. Call it pathetic; this is how the modern world works. Skipping the red tape and wasted time to cut straight to the people you have the most in common with. Cheers to my college roommates, cheers to my friends abroad, cheers to my DC tasting group, and cheers to my LA tasting group. This milestone is a testament onto you!

Prunus- it is the more intense version of my only 5.0 rated beer ever after 6,000. The pour here is dark brown with red highlights. Deep oud bruin with a fizzing out tan head. Nose is vanilla from the bourbon barrel, black cherry cola, red wine, mild balsamic, moving as it warms to a gorgeous blackberry cobbler. Moving to room temperature there is cinnamon and cranberry. Pretty much solidifying this as a pure Flemish red sour ale and nowhere near anything related to "saison". The taste is heavy lactic cranberry and raspberry yogurt, huge lime pulp piles on with a margarita like salt and lime mix. Palate is heavy fruit leather, big raspberry tannic, bright fruity acid. Raspberry and dark chocolate come together. This is a definite dark sour, one of the best on earth.

Bottle at CBC Clerkenwell 2nd BíDay Extravaganza. Thanks to Paige. It pours a deep brown body with light creamy beige head. Aroma is similar to taste with dark roast and tart wine characteristics. Also notes of chocolate, herbs, barrel and berries. Phenomenal.

Craft Clerkenwell 2nd Birthday Bonanza! Bottle thanks to Paige. Almost opaque dark brown beer. Tidy pale tan head. Light semi dry palate. Really nice mellow bourbon and sour fruits. Mild dark malts. Semi dry finish with a little spice.

Bottle at the Craft beer company 2nd birthday. Thanks to Paige. Flemmish Brun sour aroma. Light oak, Light acid, sour cherry. Oak in the flavour as well. Depth and subtlety in spades. Very good indeed.
