COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hopped intensely with Mosaic and gently with Simcoe and Amarillo. Conditioned on five lbs of Ethopian Worka beans custom roasted for us by our pals at ReAnimator coffee in Philadelphia.

Pours a cloudy dark banana yellow color with a one finger off-white head that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Decent head retention with spotty lacing left behind. Musty, resinous aroma with roasted coffee bean, resinous hop oil and slight tropical fruit. Nice balance of pineapple, mango, grass and earthy hops. The coffee presence is a bit strong for my preference but it makes for a unique aroma. On the fuller end of medium body with a stronger juicy tropical fruit presence than expected. Lots of mango, papaya and pineapple along with saaz-y, grassy hops and resinous oils. Decent amount of bitterness lingering throughout. Dry with prominent roasted coffee flavor that lingers in the finish.

murky tangerine, puffy white head drops to oily top. Stronger than pinhead, lightly ashy through finish, herbal orange notes amidst bouquet and stinging hop acids. No distinguishable roasts, coffee absent aside from late finish profile and texture. Controlled and soft but straightforward, underwhelming and sweet while missing elements.

On tap at the brewery. Coffee IPAs generally aren’t my thing, but this was a good example of a tasty version. Aroma is nicely hop forward with just a hint of coffee in the back. Flavor is hop forward as well wit ha subtle nutty bitterness coming from the coffee beans. Drinkable and nice. Good balance.

Growler courtesy of Vinny. Pour a rich, hazed golden body with thick white lacing. Aroma is fresh citrus hop with a strong herbal character. Mouthfeel is medium to almost creamy with flavors of citrus and grassy hops, herbal character and a nice fruity coffee finish. Strange, but definitely grew on me.

Eloquent and pungent American hop aroma, a bit catty and cleanly tropical. Dry and finishing with a pithy, early caramelization of something very floral. Reminscent of Arabian oud or maybe the middle stages of roasting an Ethiopian coffee, with those intensely fruity and almost booze like high notes. Reminds me of bark or earthy roots freshly dug from the ground. The coffee contribution is beautifully understated and really adds to the composition of the bitterness and flavor. I’ve been a fan of coffee’d pale beers for quite some time and this is another in the line of success in that vein. Nice stuff.

Hazy straw-yellow body, medium to thin off-whire head, spotty lacing. Lemon, bubble gum, grapefruit, pine and a significant roast coffee character including some bittersweet chocolate, blueberry, and earth. Nose is very pleasant, the flavor, however, gets a bit jumbled for my liking. Not sure the malt base stands up to the coffee enough for my liking. Medium to full bodied, gentle carbonation, earthy/roasted finish is a bit abrasive when juxtaposed with the bright citric bitterness.

On tap, pours hazy golden with small to medium white head and minimal lace. Aromas of tropical hops, lemons, mango and coffee grind. Taste is heavy citrus dank ness for the first 60% then the subtle cocoa and blueberry notes come in from the coffee. Medium body, dusty chocolate finish. This was my winner for the day, and the best coffee IPA I have tried to date.

Draft at Brewery. Hazy gold color. Faint citrus grassy nose. Initial taste of fresh ground Kenyan or Guatemalan coffee followed by tangerine and lemon. Very tasty indeed.

on draft at brewery, i liked this one, you would expect coffee to be a dark beer, this one is as light as as a pale ale. Tons of coffee flavors, and hops. Pretty cool.

On tap at Tired Hands. Cloudy orange with a creamy white head. Nose is orange, pine, grapefruit pith and light roast. Medium body, juicy then dry. Taste is melon, honey, juniper and spearmint. The coffee adds a vegetal, earthy touch that blends seamlessly into the base IPA.
