Pour is black with a tan head. Nose is dry malt, light olive and notes of milk chocolate. Vinous notes with berry malt sweetness. Taste follows the nose, olive and hints of milk chocolate with berry sweetness and vinous red grapes. A touch of paper. Not sugary, malt richness isnít high. Body is thick and velvety, carb is light to moderate.

Bottle. Pours a reddish black color with a medium beige head. A big sour berry nose, some vinous oak notes. The flavor is big wine barrel, some caramel, dust, big berries, tart wood, lively carbonation, not a ton of stout in this, brown malts. Good.

Bottle shared at Craft. Pours ruby reddish toward mahogany with khaki head. Nose is heavy tart cherry/berry, lactic sourness, earthy oak, dark malt, cacao. Tastes roasty dark malty, with a big tart fruit element, cacao, and some hops and lactic dryness in the finish.

Bottle thanks charule. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. The aroma has tart grapefruit and cherry aroma over a light roasted malt. The taste has a semi tartness but is fairly roasty.. Pretty dry.. A bit roasted.. A bit of dark chocolate.

Bottle @ tasting. Aroma is big red fruits, bordeaux, wood, vanilla. Flavour has a roasty stout base, again with big red fruits, almost brett like, some chocolate and vanilla. Awesome.

Bottle @ GTís house. Black in color with sizable khaki head. Aroma is dominated by roast, red wine, and boysenberry. Tart fruits, a hint of smoke, cocoa powder, and a touch of caramel. Really nice tartness to the flavor. Minimal sweetness, lots of roast, and plenty of red wine. Hints of smoke and tart berries. Boysenberry, dark chocolate, and a subtle caramel note.

500mL thanks to ThoreauLikeAGirl. Pours inky black with red highlights. Medium reddish tan foam, not excessive. Nose is out of this world- one of the best ever for fruity wine plus chocolate. Incredible blackberry pie, powerful Cabernet style wine, fresh berries, smoke, raspberry chocolate cake. Taste is roasty, dry, insanely vinous with sharp oak and Cabernet. Bitter cocoa powder. Really good if on the very dry, effervescent side for RIS. This is more of a powerful black saison than even the Guillemot varieties in a way. Iím pretty sure this is all spontaneously fermented or at least mostly Brett fermented, which makes it a strange beer no matter what. Really impressive like the Rye version. Unfortunately, the stainless version was a flop.

Bottle at home with friends, courtesy of Dave. Thanks man! Pour is lightly hazy brown with a small tan head. Roasty, tangy, red grapes, oaky, tangy, tannin, caramel, and toffee aroma. Taste is grapes, dark fruits, somewhat roasty, caramel, blueberry, raisiny, and figgy. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. pretty good, but the tanginess from the wine barrels kind-of throws it off for me.

Bottle with many many thanks to Jesse. Pours pitch black with tan head. Nose is amazing! Lots of red wine, oak, roast chocolate, coffee, angel food cake and a touch of cherry pie. Taste is red wine forward with some coffee and chocolate malt roast underneath. Body on the lighter side of medium for an imperial stout with this ABV. No hint of alcohol. Great stout.
