COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with cherry wood smoked malt and wheat. Soured with naturally occurring lactobacillus for 30 hours, fermented dry with our house ale yeast, and then dry-hopped with Chinook and Simcoe. A strong, kinda hoppy Lichtenhainer of sorts. Try it with or without our house-made local plum syrup. Unbelievably weird and refreshing.

Bizarre thing, sweet cherry verging on cough syrup but doesnít quite get there, and with notes of tartness but certainly not what Iíd expect from the style. The hoppiness didnít travel too well, or wasnít there to begin with, but this beer was interesting, if not exactly something I could ever finish by myself.

8/12/14 pint at THwhile waiting for 4 growler fills to complete a trade. (1 ended up breaking up in shipping) Anyway... Clear gold with a moderate head. Nose is citrusy, sour cherry notes. Taste is a quick burst of cherry sweet tarts. Not much in terms of hops and maybe the aftertaste I'm tasting is the smoke. Not sure but there's something there with a nice dry finish. Good stuff ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at TH. Copper-golden with short white head. Lightly tart and fizzy surprisingly dry and light with pleasant breadiness throughout. Maize? Because cornish Miller-Light character. Lacto component is very light, as are the hops; faint tangerine but stronger rhubarb, light cherry and strawberry soda body. Full feel. Pretty good, refreshing, just nowhere near, and I mean nowhere near a Lichtenhainer, if style even counts for anything these days (it doesnít).

Pours a hazy almost pinkish orange with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of tart cherries, Cheerios and hints if citrus. Flavor is very cereal grainy, lots of Cheerios, tart cherries, super dry and thin.

On tap at the source, pours hazy brown gold with pretty much no head. Notes are juicy lemonade, minerals, lactic funk, wood but not necessarily smoked, yeasty bread, light Spanish cedar and other misc funk. Quenching and tart as balls. Impressive.

Growler thanks to Victor. Pours gold white head. Nose/taste of smoked wheat, plum, smoked banana and light sour brett. Medium body.

Draft. Golden hazy pour with white head. Light fruit, plums, tart tones, hint of smoke. Finishes kind of smoke, with cherry and woody tones.

Lightly hazy golden colored body, medium sized white head, spotty lacing. Lemon, tart, lactic wheat, soft grainy cereals. Not getting any smoked wood, but there is a soft earthiness and minerality. Medium to light bodied with moderate to assertive carbonation, lingering, moderately acidic finish. This has all of the lactic wheat Iíve been looking for with THís berliners but hadnít really found.

Pours a clear gold with a medium white head. Aroma has some cereal, light smoky wood, and tart lemon. Flavor opens with nice bright tartness and a touch of grain and moves quickly to awesome smoky cherry wood. Mouthfeel is light and lively with a clean and dry finish that is slightly tart and lingers to smoky wood. Awesome!

[ Tap ][ 4oz ][ @Tired Hands ][ $3 ][ Mini Weizen-glass ][ 8/2/14 ]
Murky tea color, puffy white large-bubbled head drops quick. Salty nose is light coriander and manure, very dusty and dry, awesomely rustic. Bracingly tart front palate, low citric acid with heavy salt front palate, sweeter mid with more dough and pale grains, salt returning in the short, dry finish that tingles along jowls, heavy carbonation accenting salty bitterness though well balanced by souring acidity. Incredibly controlled and very clean. One of the best TH tap beers Iíve had in the last six months. 838517

With plum syrup - plum syrup itself is very fleshy, lower sweetness than expected, juicy. Salt and citric more accented in nose, high acids almost buteric in stink. Flavor softer, more rounded with plum all over the tongue, rusticity and salt lost, muted balance as this becomes a fruit beer. More approachable with but far better without. 636312
