Our four-grain saison. Brewed with rye, wheat, oats, and malted-barley in homage to the original farmers (not brewers) that originated this style. Suggestions of tropical fruit, citrus rind, and black pepper. (Originally known as FarmHands)

Awesome session table saison. Very refreshing and crisp with peppery spices, wheat, lemon, and some musty sulfuric yeast note(not in an overpowering or bad way if that makes any sense) Loved it.

Served on-tap at the brewery. A - Pours pale yellow with a nice one finger tall white head leaving spotty streaks of lace down parts of the glass. S - Smells of must - not overly funky - light fruity notes, dulled citrus, some candied sugar, some peppery spice and a good bit of bready wheat / grain. Nothing over the top here, just a solid saison nose. T - The flavors closely follow the nose. Starts off with a mix of musty funk and chewy grains quickly giving way to hints of apples, pears and light citric fruit. A nice spice note comes through toward the end of each sip, making me want to come back for more. M - Nice light flavors with a crisp feel. Some graininess toward the end of each sip but thats about it. Quite refreshing on these hot days we have been having. O - This is a great classic saison. Unlike others, there is no need to add things to distract from the base when the base is this good. I can tell that this is going to be one of my go to beers at the brewery.

Pours clrarer golden with a light orange hue and bright white head. The aroma brings a bit of Belgian yeast and sweet saison like malts. The rye flavor begins of front and then ligth sweet malt notes come in and a dryness as well with the citrus and black pepper.

Pours a really pale yellow. Aroma of funky yeast, citrus and pepper. Taste follows. So light and smooth, yet so flavorful. Another win by this great new brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Growler shared by yourefragile. Thanks! Pours a hazy straw color with a thin head. Fair head retention. Aroma of sweet grains, nutty notes and herbal hops. The taste is herbal and spicy with tropical fruits and an almost spruce-like note. Medium bodied. Nice.

Draft at the brewery. Pours cloudy pale yellow with a medium white head. Nose is wheat grains, eggy and sulfiric, light citrus. Mouth is lightly bitter, wheat, estery yeast. Kind of a saison/hefeweissen hybrid though a little too eggy for me to really get into.

UPDATED: SEP 12, 2012 Clear straw yellow body, large frothy white head. Streaky lacing. Nose is quite grainy with notes of wheat, hap, and cereal. Rounded out by a lightly spicy, citric fruitiness. Flavor is similar but with a bit more grain, pepper and lemon. Medium to light bodied, carbonation is a bit prickly when combined with the grainy/spicy flavors and the dry finish. Pleasant, but a bit underdeveloped to hang with the best saisons.

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2012 growler, hazy piss, thin white head. Nose is tangerine, less intense fantome 14, more earth and manure, less wheat. Soft carbonation. Flavor has more peach, low carb and wheat enhance dryness, bit of bubblegum ester disrupts in finish, and more balance necessary. Fantome 14 far better.

Tap at brewpub. Different experience. hazy lemon, white island head surrounded by supple ring. Nose is ultra bright citrus, feet, super dusty and doughy. Flavor shows bright lemon zest at front, mid is considerable dough, passion fruit emerging before lightly peppery, soft grass and crust finish. Moderate sized body couples with effervescent carbonation. Very nice, efficient, ethereal.

On tap at Boilermaker, pours clear light yellow, with a medium fluffed out white head. Lacing was sporadic. Nose is apricot, orange zest, rye, stonefruit, and some pepper. Taste is sweet up front, spicy/crisp in middle, and refreshing in the close. Layered extremely well. Other notes of coriander, and belgian yeasts. Really enjoyed this saison.
