Tap at Tired Hands. Amazing pour. Perfect deep black pour with reddish, thicker mocha near nitro foam with mega retention and complete sheety lace. Nose is sharper coffee porter. Opens up as it warms and gains beautiful savory complexities- woods, campfire, wildflowers, some black cherry chocolate souffle. Taste is very bitter, small alcohol sweetness, bitter tar and charcoal pencil, black crayon waxiness. Ends with sharper acid and massive tree bark, earthy, rindy bitterness. Interesting. Could pass for porter since itís not overly thick or dense. Very bitter thick dark chocolate is forefront. Agree with the style switch from Imperial Stout to normal Stout.

Wow - super unique and interesting! Pours unclear dark coffee in color with a cinnamon beige head. The aroma is sweet and earthy, quite potent but enjoyed. The flavor brings the brine, more prevalent than any other brew with shells I have had. There are sweet malts as well on a decent body.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2013 Pitch black body capped by a healthy sized medium brown head. Nice lacing. Nose is a blend of an earthy roasted bitterness. A whiff of sea water and faint ground coffee. Flavor is delicate but complex with a gentle roasted character throughout. The shells add an earthiness and minerality that really shines in the mouthfeel. Medium to full bodied. Gentle carbonation, fairly dry, moderate bitterness. Solid beer top to bottom.

Dark brown / black with a medium sized tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, come chocolate, coffee, some dark fruits and a bit of alcohol. Taste of roast, cocoa, coffee, minerals, light salt, and a dry finis.

Bottle. Split with Sean. Pours sinful black, with massive and beautiful tiny bubble coffee colored head. Aromas and flavor of bitter dark chocolate, coffee, roasted grains, tobacco, earthy yeast, cherries and other dark fruit, light vanilla and some nice hoppy notes. Medium body.

Bottle shared from Bruce. Aroma of salty mineral, chocolate, roasted coffee, and slight vanilla. Pours black but thin looking with a humungous head. Took a while for the head to go down. Taste was nice with a salty chocolate covered pretzel taste. Slight brine notes and good coffee roast. Mouthfeel was a little thin but still roasty. Easily the best escargo stout Iíve ever tasted.
