Red IPA brewed with Rye, Munich, Vienna, and Caramel malts. Well hopped with Amarillo and Simcoe. Notes of bright earth, pithy citrus, spicy rye, warm bread, and a distant perfume...

From the tap poured a copper color with a fair amount of head. Bitter hoppy flavor with a lasting finish.

Served on-tap at the brewpub. Reviewed from notes.

A - Pours a nice red color with a one finger tall white head leaving spotty trails of lacing down parts of the glass.

S - Smells of juicy citric fruit, pine resin, dash of spice from the rye, caramel and some fresh baked bread.

T - Starts off with some fresh citric fruit and piney hops slowly giving way to some spicy rye, caramel sweetness and some very light must? Finish is pretty hoppy with a bit of breadiness, lingering on the palate long after the finish.

M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, hoppy feel throughout makes it very easy to consume.

O - Not usually my style but this works well. It has lots of hops but still retains some of the rye beer core. Very nicely done.

good good red hops! celebrate this ale, cause it tastes and smells like so much pine and citrus. dank, resinous, mildly sweet malts, so satisfying!

Draft at the source with Linh prior to Chinese New Year 2013. Pours a deep brownish amber body with no head, very light lacing. Aroma is fresh hops (simcoe or amarillo?). Mouthfeel is medium and somewhat crisp with notes of bitter pine, dry grapefruit, pine resin and a touch of heat.

Tap at Tired Hands. Pours a clear, deep tea red. Pillowy off white head. Good lace. Fairly dank hop nose with caramel, butterscotch. Taste has stickiness, nuttiness, mild tea tannic bitterness, leafy. Not my thing. Sort of the opposite direction for style that Iíve grown to love from Tired Hands/Hill Farmstead. More akin to the typical specialty malt IPAs rampant today. Still, very drinkable and very good; just not one of the outstanding offerings Iíve come to expect from TH.

On tap at Tired Hands last night. Pours a nice red-amber color with a good tan head and some lacing as it goes down. The nose carries a bit of bread underneath a good dose of citrus, pine, and floral hop aromas. The flavor is similar. Hops dominate with some bread and toast underneath alongside just a bit of rye presence. Light-medium body with a firm bitterness through the finish. Quite enjoyable.

On tap. Pours a hazy copper with medium to large impressive white head accompanied by great lacing retention. Aromas are in your face amarillo juiciness, pine, grass, spicy rye and sweet malts. Taste is bitter hops, grapefruit, blood orange, caramel. Medium bodied. Finishes a little sweet and slightly ashy but thatís somewhat normal for the style. Well executed brew.

Pours a hazy amber/red with a medium off white/tan head...nice lacing and retention. Aroma has some doughy notes, rye, and caramel with citrusy hop notes. Flavor is citrusy with a touch of resin, spicy rye notes, lightly bready. Mouthfeel is light/medium and the finish is resinous and dry.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2013 Medium amber colored body, large off white head, nice dusting of lacing. Nose shows off the grain profile first... spicy rye and traces of caramel malts followed by some resin and orange rind. Flavor shifts little toward the hop components. Showing increased citrus and resin. Medium bodied a bit prickly from assertive carbonation and the rye .. moderate bitterness in the finish. Solid but lacking compared to the great aromatic ipas tired hands put out.
