On tap at Tired Hands. Nutty, black patent astringent aroma with fruity or berry undertones. Light spicy hops. Dark brown-black opaque with big foamy tan-reddish lacing head. Medium body and carbonation. Starts with roasted, chocolatey notes tinged with berry and light tartness. Hoppy bitter finish with coffee and nutty character. Smooth roasted after. Dry.

Growler courtesy of jcartmdg. It pours out with a light mahogany body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma has loads of modest notes going on with earthy nuanced various dark roasted malts and snippets of dark roasted coffee and saison yeasty spices. The taste has a smooth yet somewhat un-interesting nearly bland feeling. I get a bit of saison like yeasty spices rolling meekly into a touch of tartness and dark roasted malts.

On tap at Tired Hands. Really almost black with a tan head. Nose is earthy blueberry and mild chocolate. Medium body; creamy with a tang. Taste is coffee, dark chocolate and blueberry but just barely. This one was a surprise; reminded me of Dark Horse Tres.

Growler courtesy of jcartmdg. Cheers, Jason! Pours a dark brown with an off-white head. Nose is chocolate, roast, earth, cocoa, and light berry. Flavor is similar with chocolate, cocoa, tart berry, and some yeast. Flavor has a lot going on with assertive berries. Yeast in the finish. Interesting overall.

Pours dark crushed berry unclear brown with a big creamy cocoa head. The aroma brings fruit, crust, and malt notes. The body is quite creamy and flavors of malts and fruit blend together on the tongue.

On tap at Tired Hands. Served in stemware. Pours a very dark brown, bordering on black. The nose has a nice faint whiff of blueberry alongside some roasted malt. Not too much saison character. There’s dark fruit and a lingering bit of spice. Flavor is a good mixture of roast and berry, with a nice dryness through the finish. Slightly bitter. Pretty drinkable, though perhaps a touch too much roast character through the finish. Overall, quite good and something I was glad to go back to after having a glass from a growler earlier in the week.

Pours jet black with a mocha head. Aroma of fruits, wine slight roast. Taste is roasty, kinda overpowered with the roast. The aroma is amazing the taste is a bit too roasty. This is good but it could be better.

tap at brewpub. dark brown with ruby hints, huge puffy cream head, rich and dense looking like black cherry bomb. Nose is rich roast and light fruit skins, dry but thick. Flavor is very dry, roast, chocolate, and grind hints at front evolving into peppercorn dryness before unbelievably delicate fruit skins ride out the finish. Christ, as close to peak Black Cherry Bomb as I’ve had, the palate creamy despite light fruit sweetness, perhaps the only contrast present. Outstanding.

Tap at Tired Hands. Listed as 6.8%. Black pour with thick mocha
foam. Awesome formation. Dense and creamy. Awesome retention. Much more of a stout pour. Nose is peanut shell and roast. Taste follows with heavy roast and a lot of peanut shell. Very little blueberry. Finishes with some earth and raw dirt. Warming up, the nose presents very subtle blueberry cobbler. The rest of our group smelled a lot more blueberry than I did. Very subtle blueberry muffin finish. Body becomes soft, rich and silky with very bitter roast and dark chocolate. Waxy, bitter mouthfeel. Again, dry finish with fresh soil and earth. More like a stout than dark saison though the saison yeast character becomes more and more evident in the nose.
