wasn’t expecting much from this after reading the bottle, but turned out to be a pleasant refreshing light bitter, much like a golden ale, smooth and very drinkable

Full golden colour with a light white head. Sweet fruity apple nose with a light citrus. Medium thin body. Crisp malt toffee, with a poor sweetness in the middle and a dry hop bitter finish. Fairly boring golden ale.

Bottle from Booth’s, Ilkley. Clear bronze with a slim disc of froth. Vegetal, wholemeal aroma with the squashy glace cherry notes of a super strength lager. Tastes (I would imagine) of extruded rabbit food with incidental hints of glace cherry, sultana and copper pipe. Dismal.

Bottle bought in Cartmel Shop. Pours golden. Nice fruity and floral aroma. Taste is bitter hops and then bit of sweet malt. Light hoppy British ale with a nice balance of bready malt and floral hops.

Cask at 5th English Rose Beer Festival, Luton, Bedfordshire. Bright copper amber. Sweet raspberry fruit pastille aroma; rather nice. Thin malty taste with more of the fruit, but actually the aroma was the best bit. Some bitterness.

Cask Conditioned at The Castle, Furnival St., London
Hazy golden color; small head. It’s very perfumy in the beginning, hoppy; it disappears, leaving some cookie aroma, light apples too. The body is not very strong; there is a good flavor of lightly crispy malt, toffee, cookies; correct bitterness; dryish at the end. Quite good.
