A nice clean and balanced hoppy bitter with a surprising hit of bitter coffee and slight chocolate. Slightly unusual but works really well. Think decent bitter with a really tasty coffee hit and you’re there. Very good bitter toffee finish. Really enjoyable.

Earthy aroma. Copper amber coloured a little fruity and malty with a slightly bitter earthy finish. bobinlondon (839), Harrow, Greater London, England

Amber with an off white head in terrific lively condition. Typical quality beer from this consistantly reliable brewer. Great balance of malt and hops plus several other subtle flavours that I’m too jared to recall. gary07734 (405), Tyne & Wear, England

Malty, sweet bitter with a slight background hoppiness, some orange tanginess, but other than that just a trifle bland regular malt. Drinkable though. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 9, 2009 Cask at the JDW beer fest in the Sir Michael Balcon (Ealing). Red-brown with a thick cream head - the pump had a loose sparkler on. Lots of malt on the nose and just a hint of straw, giving way to a nutty bitterness on the palate. The aftertaste is bitter but with a not-quite-right slightly acrid note to it. Magicdave6 (5491), London, Greater London, England

The aroma has biscuity notes and a touch of lemon. There are cracker notes in the mouth and more lemon with a late hit of bitterness. Not a lot of depth but its drinkable enough.
