Cask Pint at Wibbas Down (JDW), Wimbledon, London in Oct 2013 during Spoons Festival - Very Dark Brown in colour. Malty; coffee and more coffee, milky, chocolate, roasty malts, some vanilla. Hoppy; mild hop bitterness/sourness. Fruity; none noticeable. Bitter sweet very coffee malty throughout. Decent.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol, October 2013. Near black with a slight, off-white head. Decent mix of coffee and chocolate, with a touch of roast and moderately bitter finish. Good.

Aroma - cappuccino, chocolate, sweet malts, milk and cream, roasty. Flavour doesn’t quite follow the nose. Quite dry. Would like a little more sweetness but its good.

(Cask): Black in colour, small tan head. Espresso-like aroma with some slight chocolate and vanilla notes. Flavour is black coffee, chocolate, cream, vanilla and some slight fruitiness on the finish. Really smooth to drink, low levels of carbonation which is spot on.

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2013 1/2 at the Tilley Stone Gateshead. Almost black with a dense off-white head. Vanilla aroma and flavour with some burnt sugar. Velvety texture, but I struggled to find any cappuccino flavours. Vanilla predominant, and a bitter finish is at odds with the general concept.

Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. A glossy black pour with a tawny glow and a tight beige head; aroma of chocolate and coffee; soft and sweet, with a fairly thin body and a milky coffee taste; then a dry, biscuity, and pleasantly bitter finish.

Think black pour, cappuccino aroma, quite watery on the aroma, but that’s just my taste.

Intense coffee, cream aroma. It’s quite thin so the flavour comes through more in the aftertaste. Typical roasted, malts, coffee. Lactic edge. Promises much but the balance is off. Needs to be richer and more oily.

Tasted this in the Counting House, Glasgow (JDW) in October 2013. Cask, handpump dispense. Dull black in colour with a thin light buff head. Strong, rich aroma of milky coffee, long in intensity. Thin oily mouthfeel and poor lacing. Dark malts give a dry maltloaf base with notes of cappuccino coffee, plain bournville chocolate and roast grain. Slight hint of dry dusty hop resins in the short aftertaste but this flavour subsides quite rapidly. Malt returns in the drying finish with chocolate drinking powder, coffee cremes and grain husks present in the mouth. An ok session Stout.
